Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — Weddings Without Brides
Luc Tram Chu's signature is located in the Authorized Person section, the note clearly reads: "Bride To Tinh, 1m64 tall, shortened the skirt by 4cm, tightened the waist by 2cm." It's not a temporary loan. Needle by stitch, they are turning my wedding dress into her size. To Tinh stood in front of the mirror, tears suddenly falling.
"Tham Kieu, I'm sorry. It's because I'm too selfish. Last night my mother couldn't sleep, she held my hand and said she was afraid she wouldn't have time to see me get married in this life. I just asked Tram Chu to help me once."
She clutched the hem of her dress, her voice trembling:
"If you really care, I won't wear it anymore. Anyway, my mother's regret is not your responsibility."
Luc Tram Chu immediately turned around:
"Don't talk nonsense. What I promised you, I will do."
He turned to look at me:
"The main wedding dress has been fixed anyway, so you can change to another outfit this afternoon. The extra silk satin dress you tried last time was also very beautiful, I'll ask the store to give that one away for free, and then give you a brand new one."
I was silent for a while. From designing, measuring to hand-sewing this dress, I waited 7 months for it. The first time she tried on the dress, Luc Tram Chu sat outside the curtain, insisting that she wanted to keep the surprise until the wedding day. It turns out it wasn't that he didn't want to see me in a wedding dress. He just wants to give that position to someone else first.
"Luc Tram Chu, wedding dresses can be compensated, so can the position of the bride be compensated?"
He frowned.
“It's just a ceremony, why do you have to say such harsh words?”
“Because the name on the wedding invitation is not me, nor is the person wearing this dress.”
“In the afternoon it will be you.”
“On what basis should I believe?”
“Based on our 5-year relationship.”
He said it clearly, as if it were obvious. I suddenly felt disgusted, my eyes stopped at the skirt he had just personally adjusted for To Tinh.
"You took 5 years of love and signed the paperwork to fix my wedding dress on behalf of another woman. Now you want me to use those 5 years to trust you?"
Luc Tram Chu's face became unsightly.
"Kieu Kieu, you go home first. Wait until Aunt Luong's surgery is finished, I can compensate you any way you like."
“I don't need compensation. I want her to take it off now.”
To Tinh cried even more, reaching out to grab the string tied behind her back. Luc Tram Chu held her hand tightly.
“Don't move or scratch your skin now.”
He turned to order the manager:
"Continue to edit according to To Tinh's measurements, the cost is calculated for me. Order a new main dress for Tham Kieu, do it quickly."
The store manager looked at me awkwardly. I grabbed the repair paper, used my phone to clearly take a photo of the signature, time and notes.
"This dress is immediately stopped from being repaired, no one is allowed to take it away. The entire original order and payment history must be sealed."
Luc Tram Chu reached out to snatch my phone.
“Why did you take these pictures?”
I took a step back.
“Keep it to see how I removed your name from the wedding.”
His hand froze in midair. To Tinh looked at me through the mirror, tears still flowing but her eyes were very calm. In the end, I'm sure she never considered this a "borrowing" thing. What she wants is to force me Seeing her wearing my wedding dress with my own eyes forced me to admit that she looked more like the bride. The manager called two female employees over and prepared to help her undress. To Tinh's face turned pale:
"Tram Chu, my mother is still waiting for me to record a video trying on dresses for her to see."
Luc Tram Chu turned around to block the staff member.
“No one can touch it.”
I looked at the time written on the repair paper. July 10, at 3:14 p.m. That was the day Luc Tram Chu told me he was going with Aunt To to the hospital for a follow-up check-up.
