Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — When I Left The Consultation, The Whole Hospital Was Panic
Then slowly raise the second finger.
“Second condition.”
My voice was colder than the rainstorm outside.
“I ask the hospital to publicly cancel all the sanctioning decisions given to me two months ago.”
Director Tran's expression immediately changed. But I continued.
“I want the fifty thousand yuan bonus that was deducted to be fully refunded.”
“Not a penny missing.”
“And most importantly.”
“I request the hospital to establish an independent investigation team.”
"Conduct a public, transparent and fair investigation into Lady Trieu's complaint that year."
“I want the truth to be published.”
“I want everyone to know clearly.”
“Why was I, Lam So Ha, stripped of my right to consult?”
“I want to return my innocence.”
After speaking. I looked straight at Director Tran. Don't miss any reaction on his face. His face immediately turned white. Drops of cold sweat began to break out on his forehead. First condition. Regarding my son's life. He can defy any cost. But the second condition... Crashes straight into the most sensitive place of the whole system. If we reinvestigate the incident that year. This means having to overturn the hospital's decision to "make peace and be noble". It means admitting that the board of directors was wrong. Including himself. It even means a direct confrontation with Lady Trieu. And the force behind her. It's not just a rich businesswoman. But it's also an intricate network of relationships. Characters that even director Tran doesn't want to touch. I see it very clearly. In those once determined eyes. Now only tension, fear and calculation remain. That moment. The last softness in me completely disappeared. My eyes were extremely cold.
“Director Tran.”
My voice is light. But each word is as heavy as a sledgehammer.
“A human life is touchingly alive.”
“In your heart, are you still not as important as your future and your relationships?”
“Or…”
“Your son's life is not important enough for you to accept offending a big person?”
Director Tran closed his eyes in pain. The body trembled violently. In his head. On one side is a son who is on the line between life and death. On one side are the calculations and benefits that he has built up over half his life. The two sides frantically struggled. A few seconds later. He suddenly opened his eyes. In those bloodshot eyes, there appeared a ray of extreme determination. It is the madness of someone who has been pushed to the edge. He almost screamed.
“Lin So Ha!”
"I agree!"
“I agree completely!”
“If only you can save my son!”
“I accept everything!”
“I guarantee it as Dean of the Department of Surgery!”
“I guarantee the rest of my career!”
“I swear on the honor of the Tran family!”
“What you just said, I will definitely do it!”
“If only you can save my son!”
“If necessary, I can use my own life in exchange!”
Director Tran's voice trembled violently. Each sentence seemed like he was exhausting everything he had left. I looked at him. Say nothing. Just quietly looked straight into those bloodshot eyes. In the entire hallway, there was only the sound of the rain roaring outside the window. Ten seconds passed. I still didn't look away. Until you're sure the thing is burning There was no longer any hesitation or calculation in those eyes. It's the determination to win all or nothing. It was the recklessness of a father who had been pushed to the edge. I slowly exhaled the air that had been compressed in my chest for the past two months.
"Tomorrow."
“Eight in the morning.”
“I'm going to the hospital.”
“You came to see me.”
I didn't look at him again. Turn around and enter the house. The door closed firmly. I didn't help him stand up. Not even a word of consolation. I leave you alone. Leaving behind all his struggle, humiliation, regret and despair. Outside that door. Outside the cold rain. Director Tran was still kneeling in a puddle of cold rainwater. He looked bewildered at the closed door. It was like all my strength had just been drained. Don't know how long it's been. He trembled and leaned against the wall. Difficulty standing up. The expensive clothes were soaked. His face was so haggard that he could no longer recognize the leader's appearance. But in those eyes. A ray of luck appeared again, as if he had just escaped death's door. Mixed in there. It's a humiliation that cannot be hidden. The arrogance and self-esteem that he built up over half his life. Completely crushed. And behind the door. I leaned my back against the cold wooden plank. The body slowly slides down. Finally sat down on the floor. The sound of rain was still beating madly on the glass window. The sound of my heart beating so fiercely that it almost wanted to rip out my chest. Thump. Thump. Thump. The past two months. I always thought I just wanted to leave that place. Want to forget everything. Want to start a new life. But until this moment. I just realized. That wound has never gone away. It always exists. Silently rotting in my heart. Waiting for an opportunity to explode. I didn't save Tran Vu because of Chairman Tran. Nor did he save the boy because of the hospital. I don't even save them out of tolerance. I acted... Because I wanted to take back what belonged to me.
