Chapter 27
Chapter 27 — Eight Years Change One Time Letting Go
He finally understood, what he lost, was not just a woman who loved him more than life. What he lost was the self that was once illuminated by the light. No matter how beautiful the sunset at a height of ten thousand meters is, it cannot light up the endless hell for the rest of his life. The phone slipped from his skinned hand. The screen flashed twice, then turned off completely. The Dali wind blows through the homestay's porch. The wind chimes make pleasant, sharp sounds. Giang Du Bach put the newly grilled meat skewer into her mouth, conveniently wiping away the pepper streaks on the corner of her mouth.
"What are you thinking? You're so lost."
She swallowed the meat, feeling the warmth on her lips and teeth.
“Nothing.”
She took his arm, resting her head on his shoulder. Look at the fiery clouds burning on the horizon.
“I just feel that this afternoon is especially beautiful.”
He laughed lowly, the vibrations from his chest made her feel extremely reassured.
“Tomorrow will be even more beautiful.”
…
"Host Han, our homestay's name has been mentioned on hot search, someone exposed our house for selling fake wine, and even hired a navy!"
Nam Chi's voice message rushed out from the phone, carrying an irrepressible anger. Han Mo Tuyet is sitting in front of the bar comparing last month's bills. My eyelids didn't even bother to blink.
“There's no rush, just let the bullets fly a little longer.”
Giang Du Bach brought a cup of freshly brewed coffee and placed it next to her hand.
“What does the general manager of the fake 'Cloud Cloud' hotel do next door?" He pulled out a bar stool and sat down.
“Other than him, who else comes in here?” She picked up a cup of coffee and took a sip, "Last week he wanted to buy back our place, paying one-third of the market price, but I refused. It's only been a few days and he's already making a move."
On the phone screen, a clip titled "Homestay black store Dali slashes customers" is spreading at breakneck speed. In the clip, a female tourist cried bitterly and accused the homestay of placing fake Western wine at exorbitant prices in her room, then forcing her to pay. Below, all the marines commented cursing, and simultaneously tagged the local Tourism Department.
“How are you going to handle it?” Giang Du Bach's long fingers tapped on the table, his tone was calm.
He never interfered in her decisions, only prepared a "knife" to give her when needed.
"If he likes to play with the media, then I will play a big game with him."
She opened the computer and accessed the internal security camera system.
“Last night at 8 o'clock, this tourist carried a black plastic bag into the room by herself.”
She pointed at the image on the screen.
“At 8:15, she went to the reception desk and said there was fake wine in the room.”
She typed loudly on the keyboard, extracting the camera clip with the sharpest audio recording at the reception desk.
"At that time, the receptionist told her that, to protect the environment and the safety of customers, our homestay never provides any alcoholic drinks in the room, all drinks are prepared directly at the bar on the first floor."
In the clip, the receptionist's voice is clear in every word. The female tourist immediately choked up, then began to throw a tantrum.
“What happens after that?” Giang Du Bach looked excitedly Miss.
“After that, I told the receptionist to call the police.” She turned her head and looked straight into his eyes, "The police conciliation report, and the bar code to trace the origin of that batch of fake wine, I kept them all."
Giang Du Bach smiled, his eyes filled with appreciation.
“So why not release it from the beginning?”
"That Mr. Vuong spent a lot of money to buy hot search, you should let him spend all the money." She compressed the camera file and sent it to a friend who worked in the media and said, "Wait until the video gets hotter."
