Chapter 13
Chapter 13 — Ex-Wife Reincarnated
I don't answer. Because the next second, I saw it. At the other end of the crowd, Luc Than Vu and Ly Hieu Vi. They were raising glasses of champagne, laughing and talking with others. Ly Hieu Vi wore a silver evening gown, sparkling and shining like a human-shaped lamp. Luc Than Vu wore a tailored suit, his face cold. Then he turned his head, and saw me. Four eyes looked at each other. His pupils shrank. The wine glass in his hand made a "clang" sound and fell to the ground, shattering.

Chapter 7 The sound of a wine glass breaking was crisp and deafening. The music stopped, the laughter stopped, everyone looked over at once. Luc Than Vu stared at me like he saw a ghost. Ly Hieu Vi, who was holding his arm, also looked at him. The smile on her face froze, turned to surprise, then disbelief.
“You… you?” Her voice trembled, “Why are you here?”
I said nothing. Tham Dinh Uyen took a step forward and stood in front of me. “Than Vu,” His voice was calm, “Do you know my housekeeper?” Domestic worker. These three words were like a slap straight to Luc Than Vu's face. His face turned pale. "Domestic worker?" He repeated, raising his voice, “To Van, what the hell are you doing?!” I raised my head and looked at him. "Work." I said, “Mr. Luc, I'm working.”
“Work?!” He almost shouted, "You ran here to work as a maid?! Do you know what occasion this is!"
“Know.” My voice was very light, "Mr. Tham's birthday party."
“And yet you still—”
“I need money.” I interrupted him, "Have you forgotten Mr. Luc? I left empty-handed, without taking any money."
Luc Than Vu was speechless. He gasped, speechless. Ly Hieu Vi quickly appeared to make peace: "Than Vu, don't be angry... she must be really difficult..."
“Difficult?!” Luc Than Vu seemed to be provoked, "If she was in trouble, wouldn't she come to me? She had to run here and lose face like this!"
“Losing face?” Tham Dinh Uyen spoke, his voice was not loud, but the whole yard heard it clearly. “Is it embarrassing to work at my house?”
Luc Than Vu was stunned. “Brother Uyen, I didn't mean that…”
“So what does that mean?” Tham Dinh Uyen asked, "Do you think the maid I hired is not worthy of your status?"
Luc Than Vu's face turned pale. “Mr. Uyen, she is my ex-wife!”
“Ex-wife?” Tham Dinh Uyen repeated, "Oh, divorced." Three words, so light, it's like saying it's a beautiful day today.
Luc Than Vu clenched his fists. “To Van,” He glared at me, his eyes bloodshot, “Please come here for me.” I didn't move.
“I told you to come here!”
"General Luc," I calmly replied, "I'm working right now. Private business, let's get off work and talk about it later."
“Miss—”
“Than Vu!” Ly Hieu Vi pulled him back, "Don't do that... everyone is looking..."
The surrounding guests began to whisper loudly, their eyes as sharp as needles piercing Luc Than Vu. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. "Okay," He gritted his teeth, "Let's talk after work. I'll wait for you." After speaking, he pulled Ly Hieu Vi back, walked to the rest area on the side and sat down, but his eyes still stared at me, as if wanting to burn me. Tham Dinh Uyen turned to look at me. “Are you okay?” He asked softly.
“It's okay.” I replied.
“Really okay?”
“Really.”
He looked at me for a few seconds, nodded. “Go take care of Binh An,” he said, “Just now I was startled.” As if I had received a general amnesty, I turned around to look for the dog. Binh An was hiding behind the sofa, saw me coming, barked "Woof" and jumped into my arms.
“Are you scared?” I ruffled his hair, "It's okay, I'm here." The dog rubbed against me and obediently lay still.
I hugged it, sat down on a chair in the corner, away from the crowd, away from Luc Than Vu's bullet-shaped eyes. Ly Hieu Vi came closer. She held two glasses of champagne and smiled gently. “Sister,” She sat down next to me, “Would you like a drink?”
