Chapter 2
Chapter 2 — Ex-Wife Reincarnated
I stopped walking, my hand on the doorknob. The feeling of cold metal woke me up. Inside was my husband, and the woman who was pregnant with his child. What am I doing? Eavesdropping? How humble. I turned around, walked towards the master bedroom, and locked the door. Leaning my back against the door, I took a deep breath. In the room there is still our "wedding photo" - by the beach, under the sunset, me wearing a white dress and smiling foolishly. Luc Than Vu turned to look at me, his eyes were warm. False. It's all lies. I walked to the wardrobe and opened it. On the left is his suit, expensive and neat. On the right are my clothes, mostly bought by him, with tags still unopened. He said the General Director's wife must dress to look presentable. I didn't like it, but he said it was beautiful. Now that I think about it, he was just molding the “Lady Luc” he wanted — not To Van. I closed the closet and pulled out an old suitcase from the storage room. This suitcase has been used since college and has moved with me three times. Later, Luc Than Vu criticized it for being poor and bought me more than a dozen branded suitcases. I don't throw it away. Luckily I didn't throw it away. I opened the safe. Inside are my identification documents: ID card, household registration book, passport. And a few bank cards - all made by me, Luc Than Vu didn't know. He thought all the cards I used were extra cards he gave me. Little did he know, 3 years ago, I stopped spending his money. I have income. He will never know. In the jewelry box, sparkling gems were all birthday and wedding anniversary gifts from Luc Than Vu. I picked up a diamond necklace, a gift from last year, and he said it matched my collarbone. I put it down, didn't take anything. These things don't belong to me, they belong to "Lady Luc". In the end, I only got rid of three things: 1. Papers and bank cards. 2. An old laptop with all my design drafts inside. 3. A set of clothes — my favorite jeans and white T-shirt in college, forced to lie at the bottom of a suitcase for 5 years. That's it. My entire fortune. Close the suitcase, it's ridiculously light. 5 years of marriage, can only fit half a suitcase. I walked to the window. Below is the backyard, a soft lawn. Open the window, cold wind rushes in. I gently pushed the suitcase out, it fell onto the grass, making a dull thud sound. Next is a small bag containing papers and computer. Finally, I took off the silk dress I was wearing and changed into my old clothes. The jeans are a bit tight and the waistband is a bit uncomfortable. But I breathed a sigh of relief, feeling like I could finally breathe. The person in the mirror, bare face, ponytail, white t-shirt and jeans. It's me. A 25-year-old To Van before marrying Luc Than Vu. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. “Welcome back.” Open the bedroom door. The hallway was quiet. The living room door also opened. Li Xiaowei is wearing my silk dress — a limited edition dress that hangs in the master bedroom closet. Her hair was wet, nestled against Luc Than Vu's chest. Seeing me, her eyes flashed with pride. “Are you not sleeping yet?” Her voice was coy, "Did you and Than Vu make noise that woke you up?" Luc Than Vu frowned and looked at me: "What's wrong?" dressed like this?"
“My clothes.” I replied, “Is there a problem?”
He was speechless. “Hieu Vi is worried about you leaving home,” His voice softened a bit, “I told you it wouldn't. You're so empty-handed, where can you go?" I laughed. “General Luc really understands me.” Ly Hieu Vi took his arm: "Than Vu, are you angry with me? Or should I go..."
“Don't talk nonsense.” Luc Than Vu hugged her tightly, "I'm pregnant, where can I go?" This is my home.”
