Chapter 15
Chapter 15 — Pregnant for 280 Days, I Used a Notebook to Reclaim My Whole Life
“I know.”
“But we can't leave right now.”
Duong Thanh lowered his voice. I looked at the sky outside the window as it gradually darkened.
“They're starting to get impatient.”
“More impatient.”
“It's easier to make mistakes.”
That evening. Tham Lam went to the hospital once. She's not wearing a vest. Just wear a simple windbreaker. But when I sit down. Still exuding composure and steadfastness as usual. I showed her everything I had today. Recording. Document photo. All medical records. After watching. Tham Lam only said one sentence.
“This medical record is very important.”
Duong Thanh was stunned. Tham Lam explained.
“During pregnancy, I was forced to sign property documents.”
“After an argument, I had to be hospitalized.”
“There is a recording.”
“There is a medical record.”
“There are witnesses.”
“This chain of evidence is very complete.”
“Can you prove that they pressured you?”
Tham Lam nodded.
“It could constitute a very strong source of supporting evidence.”
“But what's more important right now.”
“It's my safety.”
“After leaving the hospital.”
“Try to have Duong Thanh or your mother stay with you.”
I was silent for a while.
“My mother's health is not good.”
“I don't want to worry her.”
Tham Lam looked at me.
“Then hire a postpartum nanny.”
“All expenses must be recorded in full.”
“Who will have to bear it in the future?”
“Just count it all together.”
I nodded. Before leaving. Tham Lam sent me a list on my phone. It clearly states the things I need to continue to keep. Medical examination and treatment costs. Living expenses. Evidence of the other party giving money and gifts to a third person. Recordings of conversations. Original or photo of Property Certification. I read each entry one by one. I don't understand why. My heart gradually became calmer. Co Thua Trach thought. I just know how to be patient. But he doesn't know. When a person really no longer has expectations. That is also the time when that person is most alert to move on. Ten o'clock at night. Co Thua Trach entered the hospital room again. In his hand he carried a box of porridge.
“The doctor said I can eat a little more frugally.”
I don't accept. Duong Thanh sat next to him. Looked at him coldly. Co Thua Trach put down the porridge box. The voice softened a bit.
“My mother is a bit impatient today.”
"She's just worried that I won't have a plan for the future."
I looked at him.
“So that means…”
“I admit it.”
“That property certificate was prepared by you yourself.”
His whole body immediately stiffened. I turned on the recording function on my phone. Place it right next to the edge of the blanket. Co Thua Trach saw it. His face immediately became very unsightly.
“Now come talk to me.”
“Do I have to record too?”
I replied softly:
“I'm afraid I won't remember clearly in the future.”
He stared at me. It took a long time to speak up.
“You don't have to do that.”
“So do you need to force me to leave with empty hands?”
His lips moved slightly. But not a single word came out. Right at that moment. My phone vibrated. A message from Sam Vu Vi appeared on the screen. That's a photo of a pregnancy checkup card. In the full name section. Also in the Family Contact section. Clearly write three words. Co Thua Trach. I stared at that prenatal checkup form. Fingertips get cold little by little. Co Thua Trach stood next to the hospital bed. His eyes also stopped on the screen my phone picture. His facial expression was unsightly. Completely turned pale. Duong Thanh was the first to speak.
“Co Cheng Ze.”
“What else do you have to say now?”
Co Thua Trach's throat moved slightly.
“This thing…”
“Who sent it to you?”
I raised my head to look at him.
“You don't know her?”
He immediately replied:
“I don't know why she wrote my name down.”
Duong Thanh smiled coldly.
“The family contact person also wrote it wrong.”
“It even has the same name as you?”
Ngo Phuong Cam stopped to take a look. His face also changed immediately. But very fast. She regained her composure. The voice was shrill.
"The woman outside likes to fill in and out."
“How can you believe it?”
I looked at Co Thua Trach.
“Then call her and ask her.”
He didn't move at all. In the hospital room. So quiet that there was only the sound of the infusion dripping drop by drop. I held the phone towards him a little more.
“Call now.”
Co Thua Trach stared at me. In his eyes, he tried to suppress his anger.
“Giang Tri Dao.”
“Do I have to make a fuss right in the hospital like this?”
I replied softly:
“I'm keeping the pregnancy.”
“The one who makes noise.”
“Not you.”
Duong Thanh stood next to the hospital bed. The phone is always held in hand.
“If you don't call.”
“Let me call.”
She just finished speaking. Sam Vu Vi sent another message. Mrs. Co, don't ask him anymore. He doesn't dare admit it. I click open. The very next second. She sent another recording.
“Thua Trach said your health is not good.”
“The baby may not be able to keep it.”
“Tell me not to rush.”
“He said to wait until my sister gave birth.”
“He will give you an answer.”
The recording is not long. But every word. It's like the edge of a dull knife. One blow after another. Smashing down the entire hospital room. Ngo Phuong Cam's face turned a little whiter. Co Thua Trach immediately raised his hand. Trying to steal my phone. Duong Thanh was one step faster. Immediately block in front of him.
“What are you going to do?”
Co Thua Trach's voice was tense.
“She is trying to create division.”
I looked at him.
“So why…”
“What she said.”
“Is that consistent with what you said before?”
