Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — Reborn to Love the Perfect One
One Wednesday morning, the entire Vệ Thịnh Group was shaken by a rumor that spread quickly on financial forums: the company was having serious cash flow difficulties, at risk of violating loan terms with its largest creditor bank. The company's stock price on the trading floor plummeted in the morning, causing the atmosphere in the entire company headquarters to become suffocatingly tense.
Ánh Vy rushed to the emergency meeting room with her father as soon as she received the news. "Dad, where did this rumor come from? We don't have any cash flow problems at all."
"Dad is also sending someone to investigate," Vệ Thành Lâm replied, his face more tense than ever. "But the most urgent problem right now is that the creditor bank has called, asking the company to explain clearly within forty-eight hours, otherwise they will consider exercising their right to withdraw the loan early according to the contract terms."
That news was like a bucket of cold water poured straight into the entire leadership team. If the bank really decides to withdraw the loan before maturity, the company will face a serious liquidity crisis, which can lead to a series of other consequences such as being forced to sell off assets, stalling ongoing projects, and completely losing trust from partners and shareholders.
Ánh Vy recalls that in her previous life, she had never witnessed this incident happen, perhaps because at that time she was no longer alert enough to pay attention to such macro-financial fluctuations during the period approaching her own tragedy. She wondered if this was a deliberate pre-emptive strike by some force to weaken the company before launching other plots, or simply a random false rumor.
"I think we need a really sharp financial analyst to prepare the most convincing presentation possible in this short time." She told her father, then immediately picked up the phone to call Dịch Phong.
"Mr. Dịch Phong, I need you to come to the large meeting room right now. We are in a serious crisis," she spoke on the phone with a rare urgent tone.
Less than ten minutes later, Dịch Phong appeared in the meeting room, holding a laptop and several documents. He quickly grasped the situation through Ánh Vy's summary, then began a coherent analysis in front of the entire board of directors.
"This rumor shows signs of being spread intentionally, originating from an anonymous account on a financial forum, then amplified by several other accounts with unusually similar activity patterns." He presented, his tone calm but sharp. "This shows a high possibility that this is not a spontaneous rumor, but a calculated campaign to confuse shareholders and put pressure on banks, possibly with the purpose of forcing the company to sell shares at a low price or create an opportunity for a third party to take over."
The entire meeting room was silent before this sharp judgment. Vệ Thành Lâm frowned. "So what do we need to do to reassure banks and markets immediately?"
"I suggest three steps," Dịch Phong replied without hesitation. "First, the company needs to immediately publish a transparent financial report, certified by an independent auditor, to quell rumors with actual data. Second, it needs a face-to-face meeting with a bank representative, not only to explain in writing but also to show commitment with specific actions, such as proposing to add temporary collateral to strengthen trust. Third, and equally important, the company needs to find a supportive voice from a strategic partner. reputable strategy to publicly express confidence in the company's financial situation, helping to reassure the market faster," Ánh Vy observed Dịch Phong as he presented, once again clearly feeling the difference between his crisis handling skills and the normal position of Strategy Department employee that he currently holds. Not simply analyzing data, his way of looking at problems is strategic as someone who is familiar with business battles on a much larger scale.
Throughout that afternoon, under the coordination of Dịch Phong, the company's finance and legal team worked tirelessly to complete the transparency report. By evening, a face-to-face meeting with the bank representative was hastily arranged, and Ánh Vy and her father personally attended, bringing with them a detailed explanation and a proposal to add collateral.
The most unexpected thing happened right at that meeting: the bank representative suddenly received a call, and then their attitude became much softer, agreeing to extend the review period for another week to give the company time to stabilize the situation. Ánh Vy did not know the reason behind that sudden change in attitude, but when she glanced at Dịch Phong who was standing quietly in the corner of the room, she caught a glimpse of meaningful eyes that he quickly retracted.
On the way back, Ánh Vy tried to ask directly. "Mr. Dịch Phong, do you know why the bank representative suddenly changed his attitude like that?"
"Perhaps our explanation is convincing enough," he replied, his tone still maintaining his usual modesty, but his eyes unusually avoided looking directly at her.
Ánh Vy did not inquire further, but in her heart, curiosity about this man's true identity grew more and more. She knows that behind the simple appearance of an ordinary strategic employee, there is definitely a much bigger story hidden that she has not been able to touch.
The next morning, when the crisis had temporarily subsided, Vệ Thành Lâm called Ánh Vy into his private office, her face still showing the anxiety of last night but somewhat more relaxed.
"What do you think about Mr. Dịch Phong?" He asked, his eyes examining his daughter. "Dad watched how he handled the crisis last night. It was really impressive. It's difficult for a normal Strategy Department employee to have such vision and bravery."
"I noticed that too, dad," Ánh Vy replied, carefully choosing her words. "I think, perhaps the company should consider promoting him to a higher position, commensurate with his true abilities."
"Dad is considering that too." Vệ Thành Lâm nodded. "But I have a strange hunch, that he is not simply an ordinary employee from an unknown family. The way he talks, the way he analyzes problems, all have the appearance of someone who has been well-trained in a top corporate environment since childhood."
Ánh Vy remained silent, not knowing how to respond to her father's sharp judgment. She clearly understood the truth behind Dịch Phong's personality, but she also respected his decision to keep his identity a secret, so she only responded vaguely. "Maybe you're right. But regardless of his true identity, I think the ability and dedication he shows is the most important thing to the company right now."
"You're right." Vệ Thành Lâm nodded, his eyes showing a rare mischievous look. "Dad also noticed that you seem to trust and care about this guy Dịch Phong a lot. Are you imagining things too much?"
Ánh Vy was a bit confused by her father's unexpected question. "Dad, don't overthink too much. I'm just appreciating his working ability."
"Yeah, that's all I asked." Vệ Thành Lâm smiled slightly, without asking further questions, but his eyes still shone with the delicate observation of a father who always paid attention to every little change in his daughter's heart.
Leaving her father's office, Ánh Vy passed by the open office area of the Business Strategy department, accidentally encountering Dịch Phong working hard at the computer, surrounded by a towering stack of documents that had not yet been cleaned up after the last night of crisis. He looked somewhat tired, his eyes were dark from lack of sleep, but still maintained a high concentration on the task at hand.
She walked over and placed a cup of hot coffee on his table that she had just bought at the coffee shop on the ground floor. "Did you work all night last night? Drink some coffee to wake yourself up."
Dịch Phong raised his head, somewhat surprised by this sudden concern. "Thank you. I'm just completing a few additional reports to send to the bank, making sure all information is consistent."
"You should rest a bit, your health is more important," she said, her tone was sincerely worried. "The company just overcame a major crisis, largely thanks to your efforts. You deserve a break."
"I'm fine, ma'am," he replied, smiling slightly, his eyes looking at her with undisguised warmth. "Seeing the company overcome the difficult period, I also feel much more relieved."
Ánh Vy looked at him, thinking, perhaps this is what she had missed in her previous life for many years: a person who always silently devoted herself without asking for any recognition or compensation, simply because she wanted the best things for her and the company she loved.
