Chapter 17 — Reborn to Love the Perfect One

Updated 10/09/2026 6 min read

During the next two weeks, Ánh Vy and Dịch Phong quietly coordinated with each other, gradually collecting evidence of the collusion between Bách Nam, Kiều Ý Nhi and Tưởng Bảo Long. Dịch Phong, with a wide relationship in the financial world thanks to his true identity, which he still keeps secret, asked a friend who works at an independent auditing company to help review Tưởng Bảo Long's personal financial transactions in the last six months.

"I got the results," Dịch Phong said, bringing a file to meet Ánh Vy at a quiet coffee shop far from the company headquarters, where they could discuss without worrying about being followed. "Tưởng Bảo Long received an unusually large sum of money from a media consulting company closely related to Kiều Ý Nhi, transferred through many intermediary accounts to hide the true origin."

Ánh Vy looked through the report, her eyes were cold. "So he accepted money to side with them. This is evidence of a clear profit motive behind this collusion."

"There's more," Dịch Phong continued. "I also found clues related to the previous fake document case. The document forgery expert that Kiều Ý Nhi hired was the same person who carried out a similar incident two years ago, related to the investment fraud she was involved in. I have enough evidence to prove the direct connection between Kiều Ý Nhi and this person."

"So we have enough basis to prove the entire chain of conspiracy, from the last document forgery to the current collusion," Ánh Vy said, her tone was both relieved and cautious. "But I think we should not rush to announce it right now. If they act passively early, they will have time to prepare to deal with it, erase their traces or create another story to defend themselves."

"You're right." Dịch Phong nodded, his eyes shining with sympathy. "We need to wait until the right moment when they strike, the moment when they are confident that they have secured victory, so that our counterattack will be maximally effective, leaving them without any chance to defend."

The two spent many hours afterwards working together to build a detailed plan for the upcoming annual shareholders' meeting, a time when they were both sure Bách Nam and his accomplices would choose to strike the decisive blow. The plan includes preparing all the evidence in a visual presentation form, easy to understand for all attending shareholders, and making arrangements in advance with several reputable lawyers to ensure the legality of the information disclosure process.

"There's one more problem," Ánh Vy said, her eyes looking at Dịch Phong were full of hesitation. "If they really reveal your true identity to all shareholders and the media, are you mentally prepared for that?"

Dịch Phong was silent for a moment, his eyes looking far away. "I've been thinking about this for a long time. Perhaps, this is also the right time for me to proactively publicize my identity, instead of letting them gain control of the story. If I announce the truth first myself, with full context and legitimate reasons, their story about me being a corporate spy will become meaningless."

"I think it was a wise decision," Ánh Vy replied, but her tone was still a little worried. "But I also want you to know, no matter what decision you make, I will always be on your side."

"Thank you," Dịch Phong replied, his eyes looking at her were full of respect and a deep affection that he no longer tried to hide. "With you by my side, I feel brave enough to face whatever comes next."

Two weeks before the shareholders' meeting, Ánh Vy also took another important step of preparation: she silently met individually with each neutral board member, sharing part of the information she had collected, to ensure that when the decisive moment came, she would have the necessary support from the majority of members, not giving Tưởng Bảo Long a chance to turn the situation around with his personal influence.

Every piece has been carefully arranged. Now, all that remains is to wait for the decisive moment, when the curtain on the drama of betrayal and greed will officially be raised in front of all those present at the annual shareholder meeting of Vệ Thịnh Group.

Gia Hạnh also plays a significant role in this preparation phase. With skillful communication skills and extensive relationships within the company, she quietly probed the attitudes of each board member, clearly determining who could be trusted and who was hesitant, so that Ánh Vy could approach the right audience at the right time.

"I've compiled a list of people who are most likely to support you," Gia Hạnh said, giving Ánh Vy a carefully noted list. "Most of them are people who have worked with your father for a long time, and have a certain attachment and loyalty to the Ve family. There are only about three people who still appear ambiguous, perhaps somewhat influenced by Tưởng Bảo Long."

"Thank you very much, Gia Hạnh," Ánh Vy said, squeezing her friend's hand gratefully. "Without you, I don't know how I would have managed amidst this mountain of preparation work."

"Don't be polite to me." Gia Hạnh smiled, her eyes full of sincerity. "We've been best friends for years, I'm always here for you, no matter what."

Late one evening, when both of them had completed most of the preparation work, Ánh Vy and Dịch Phong sat together in an empty meeting room, the atmosphere between the two of them became much lighter than the tension of the past few days.

"Ánh Vy," Dịch Phong spoke up, his tone somewhat hesitant." if everything at the shareholders' meeting goes smoothly, and the truth about my identity is announced without any negative consequences, I have something to tell you."

Ánh Vy's heart beat slightly faster at his meaningful eyes. "You keep talking, I'm listening."

"Maybe, I'll save that until after all the trouble has passed," he replied, smiling slightly, a warm smile he rarely showed. "I want, when I say it, we can both receive it in a truly comfortable and complete state of mind, without being encumbered by any other worries." Ánh Vy smiled and nodded in agreement, although in her heart she vaguely guessed what he wanted to say. "I will wait, Dịch Phong. And I believe, together we will overcome the upcoming challenges to the fullest."

Meanwhile, completely unaware of their opponent's careful preparations, Bách Nam and Kiều Ý Nhi were still confident in their plan, believing that this time they had victory in their hands and could not be overturned like the previous two failures.

At Kiều Ý Nhi's apartment, Bách Nam is reviewing the documents and photos they have painstakingly collected over the past several weeks. "With this evidence, along with the support of Uncle Tưởng Bảo Long, I am confident that this time Ms. Ánh Vy and that guy Dịch Phong will have no way to deny it in front of all shareholders."

"You're right," Kiều Ý Nhi replied, a proud smile on her lips. "We are much more prepared than last time. As soon as the shareholders' meeting begins, we will release all the evidence at once, without giving them any chance to react or prepare."

"Only two weeks left," Bách Nam said, his eyes shining with excitement mixed with worry. "I hope everything will go as planned."

"Don't worry," Kiều Ý Nhi replied, wrapping her arms around Bách Nam in a fake gesture of comfort. "This time, we won't let any small mistake have a chance to ruin our perfect plan."

Unbeknownst to both of them, that overconfidence would become a fatal weakness, causing them to be caught off guard by what was really waiting for them at the upcoming shareholders' meeting.

Two weeks passed quickly in intense preparations on both sides. Ánh Vy spent every free moment reviewing the entire plan with Dịch Phong and the legal team, ensuring that not a single detail was missed. She knew that this would be a decisive battle, not only determining the future of her and the company, but also an opportunity for her to rewrite the entire tragic outcome of her previous life.
