Chapter 16
Chapter 16 — After Kicking the Medical Professor
He didn't answer, just leaned slightly and pressed his lips down. A very soft kiss landed at the corner of my mouth, gliding like a feather. Sycamore leaves fell around us. When he pulled away, the croissant in my hand almost fell to the ground.
“Tham Khinh Chu!” I covered my face, "This is in front of the lecture hall!"
“No one will see.”
“The upperclassman who passed by just now saw it!”
“Who?” He looked back once, then turned back, "Oh, the student from last time. It's okay, let her see."
In the distance, the upper class girl with curly chestnut hair, her face as black as the bottom of a pot, turned and walked away. I buried my face, not daring to look up. His laughter came down from the top of my head, carrying strong satisfaction.
“To Van Le,” he said, “This time you will run back first, don't run anymore.”
9 I thought Tham Khinh Chu's words "don't run anymore" were just sweet words. Unexpectedly, early the next morning, he actually appeared downstairs in the dormitory, carrying two paper bags in his hands. One bag was croissants like the ones I ate yesterday, the other bag was hot soy milk. When I put on my pajamas, yawned and pushed the window down to look down, he raised his head and waved at me.
“It's half past seven, come down here.”
I quickly closed the window. The roommate poked her head out from under the blanket: "Who is that handsome guy downstairs?"
“…My father's friend.”
“Is your father's friend bringing you breakfast?”
“…He is enthusiastic.”
The roommate said a meaningful "oh" and covered her head with the blanket: "Go go go go, don't make noise while I'm sleeping on a date." I changed my clothes and rushed downstairs. He was leaning against the wall looking at his phone. When he saw me coming, he gave me the paper bag. I took it and saw that the croissant had changed its flavor and turned into chocolate.
"Yesterday I ate the original flavor, let's see if I can change it to a different flavor today."
“How do you know I eat chocolate?”
“When I was in 12th grade, I posted on our WeChat friends circle, saying I wanted chocolate croissants but couldn't buy them.”
My heart was warm, but on the outside I was teasing him: "Professor Tham, are you doing archeology? You can find out my status from all generations?"
“Your friend circle is displayed for six months, please check it again.” He calmly said, "You posted a total of 11 statuses, 7 were complaining about exams, 3 were showing off snacks, and one was seeing a puppy on the side of the road."
“…Do you know it by heart?”
“Yes.”
I held a croissant in my mouth, unable to speak. Just like that, Tham Khinh Chu actually took me to school every day. Morning class started at eight o'clock. At exactly seven thirty, he was already downstairs in the dormitory, wearing coats of different colors, standing under the ginkgo tree waiting for me. The ginkgo leaves became more and more yellow, and he became more and more handsome. The whole medical school is rumored to be dating Professor Tham, who is a first-year anatomy teaching assistant. By the time it reached my ears, I was completely immune. Tran Du approached eagerly: "So how did you two end up? From online love to real life love, all that's left is your father's hurdle, right?" I choked. My father. This matter is still not resolved. That evening, Tham Khinh Chu and I ate noodles at the old restaurant. I chewed a piece of beef and hummed softly: "I'm trying to figure out whether I should talk to you or not." My dad doesn't." His chopsticks paused: "Are you sure?" From the title of "old friend", he suddenly changed to a girl's boyfriend. I have a feeling my father will kill someone.
“Or…” I timidly suggested, “Can you run fast?”
Tham Khinh Chu looked at me and slowly smiled: "To Van Le, are you worried that I will be beaten?"
"I'm worried that you'll be beaten and crippled and then someone will teach you anatomy."
"Don't worry, that year on Boston Street, my bag was robbed. I broke my arm and controlled the robber."
