“Are you hiding something from me?” Tran Nghien's heart tightened. He remembered the promise he made last night. *Don't lie to me because of her.* He softly replied: "There's a text message." "Someone took a photo of my apartment gate, threatening to come to the house and wait." Ninh Uyen's fingertips curled slightly. Tran Nghien immediately continued: "I asked the management to stop it." "The door lock will also be changed." "There are security guards at the hospital, they can't get in." Ninh Uyen was silent for a few seconds. "Is there anything else?" Tran Nghien's throat was choked. I don't want to talk. But he couldn't continue to cover up for anyone anymore. "My mother confessed at the police station, saying that she knew there were chives but still deliberately ate them all to frame her." Ninh Uyen's eyes looked at him quietly. There was no surprise. There was also no outrage. There is only a coldness that penetrates to the core. After a long while, she smiled slightly. That smile was more painful than crying. "She still thinks I'm acting." Tran Nghien grabbed her arm tightly. "I won't let her throw this pot of dirty water on you." Ninh Uyen looked up at the ceiling. "Tran Nghien." "I heard." "When I ate that plate of dumplings, I was actually very scared." Tran Nghien's eye sockets turned red. Ninh Uyen's voice was hoarse, each word seemed to be forced out from the pain: "I know I shouldn't eat." "I also know something will happen." "But she just kept staring at me." "She made me feel like, if I don't eat, I'm guilty." Tran Nghien bowed his head, pressing his forehead against the back of her hand. "I'm sorry." Ninh Uyen did not withdraw her hand. But she no longer comforted him like before. "I didn't eat to prove it to her." "I want to show you." "If you still can't see it, then I really don't know what to do." Tran Nghien's tears fell onto the back of her hand. "I saw it." "This time I really saw it." Ninh Uyen closed her eyes. "Then don't let me see her again." "Okay." "Don't let me see it again." Let my child meet her.” Tran Nghien's breathing stopped. He raised his head. Ninh Uyen looked at him, without any hesitation in her eyes. "If this baby is born safely." "I don't want him to be held by her." "Not even once." Tran Nghien squeezed her hand. "I promise." Ninh Uyen's mother turned her back to the window, secretly wiping her tears. The hospital room had just fallen into silence when suddenly a nurse knocked on the door outside. "Mr. Tran." "There are two police officers outside, saying they want to find out the situation about the noise your mother made at the hospital in the afternoon." Tran Nghien stood up. "I'm going out to talk." Ninh Uyen gently grabbed his sleeve. "I also want to talk." Tran Nghien immediately shook his head. "You can't make your body tired any more now." Okay." Ninh Uyen looked at him. "She told me to slander her." "Then I will personally tell the police how she stared at me eating." Tran Nghien was so sad that he couldn't speak. Ninh Uyen slowly got up. Her mother quickly ran to help. "Uyen Uyen, don't try." Ninh Uyen's face turned pale and scary, but her eyes became more determined than ever. "Mom." "I don't want to let others have to speak for me anymore." When entering, the two police officers deliberately lowered their voices. A female police officer pulled up a chair and sat next to the hospital bed. "Don't rush." "Your body is not well, just speak slowly." Ninh Uyen nodded. She held her mother's hand, then glanced at Tran Nghien. Then clearly uttered each word.
