Chapter 10 — My Driver is No. 1 Young Master in the Capital

After the incident at the hospital, Bach Tan began to spend his rare free time quietly learning more about Bach Duong, not because he suspected she was related to the person who poisoned his younger brother, but because of a sincere curiosity growing in his heart, mixed with the cautious instinct of someone accustomed to investigating everything around him.

He asked Dang Huu Khiem to quietly look up information about "Bach Thao Duong" - a name he had heard a few times but never bothered to research carefully. The search results surprised him.

"Young master, you need to see this." Dang Huu Khiem called, his voice filled with unusual seriousness. "Bach Thao Duong is not an ordinary oriental medicine pharmacy as I initially thought. This is one of the oldest and most mysterious medical and martial arts families in the capital, with a history of more than a hundred years, but almost never appears in the media or normal business circles."

"Continue." Bach Tan signaled, his eyes listening attentively.

"I couldn't find much public information, they keep everything very carefully private. But there's something interesting — in the last few years, I discovered the names of seven different men, each head of an important field in the city, from health, finance, law, technology, to media and security, all have a strange thing in common in their backgrounds — they all studied at a place called 'Bach Thao Duong' when they were children."

Bach Tan paused, the disparate pieces of the puzzle began to gradually fit together in his head. The man named Ton Khai Vu who came to Bach Nhan's rescue the night before — the head of the city's largest private hospital system — was one of them.

"Is there anything else?" He asked, his voice trying to stay calm even though there was a certain amount of shock in his heart.

"Yes, young master." Dang Huu Khiem replied, his voice could not hide his surprise. "I have tried cross-examining business relationships in the city over the past ten years, and discovered that these seven people, although never publicly appearing together in the media, have an unusually high frequency of contact and support for each other in large deals. In other words, they operate like an underground network, silently supporting each other in all key areas of this city."

"You send me the full list." He said, his voice serious.

A few minutes later, a text message with seven names appeared on his phone screen: Bui Chinh Nam — security; Ton Khai Vu — medical; Vu Dinh Long — legal; Phan Gia Thinh — finance; Dinh Bao Long — technology; Ngo Viet Anh — media; Trinh Nam Khuong — personal security. Seven names, seven important areas of society, and all of them come from the same place that Bach Duong always vaguely mentioned.

The more Bach Tan read, the more he realized the severity of what he had just discovered. If Bach Duong was indeed closely connected to this network of seven powerful people, then her true family background might be far more formidable than any business family he had ever known, including his own Cung family.

That night, when they both sat down to dinner, Bach Tan deliberately inquired in a more subtle way. "Yesterday, the person who came to help me save Bach Nhan, Mr. Ton Khai Vu, what is his relationship with you?"

Bach Duong stopped her chopsticks for a moment, realizing that this question was not simply a matter of social curiosity. "He's my senior brother, like I said. We grew up together, studied in the same sect."

"I heard that he also has six other senior brothers, each of whom is the head of an important field in the city." Bach Tan continued, his eyes carefully observing her reaction. "That's not a normal sect, is it?"

Bach Duong put down her chopsticks, looked straight at Bach Tan, a complex consideration appeared in her eyes. She realized that he had begun to learn about his true family background, and perhaps it was time for her to reconsider the level of trust she had in this contract husband.

"Are you investigating me?" She asked, her voice not angry at all, simply a straightforward question.

"I didn't mean to investigate you." Bach Tan answered honestly. "But after what happened to Bach Nhan, I need to understand more about the person who saved my brother's life. You can't blame me for being curious."

Bach Duong was silent for a moment, considering carefully. She remembered the rule of not prying into each other that they had agreed upon, but the circumstances were different now — saving Bach Nhan's life had made the line between role and reality blurrier than ever.

"Okay." She said, deciding to give in partially. "I won't hide it from you anymore, at least about this part. My family is the descendant of Bach Thao Tang, a medical and martial arts family with a history of over a hundred years. The seven senior brothers you mentioned are all my fellow brothers, each taking on an important position in society to protect and support each other. We are not an ordinary business family, but a hidden power network, operating silently behind the scenes."

Bach Tan listened, surprise and admiration rose in his heart. He did not expect that the woman he married in a moment of impulsivity would have such a formidable background — a family background that could rival, and in some aspects even surpass, the power of the Cung family.

"What about Song Hoai Nam?" He asked, curious about her previous relationship. "Does he know about your true family background?"

"You know, that's why his family wanted to marry me in the first place." Bach Duong replied, her voice a bit bitter. "But he never truly loved me, only aiming for my reputation and the relationships behind my family."

Those words made Bach Tan suddenly realize the strange similarity between their situations - both he and Bach Duong were once seen by others through the lens of power and property, instead of the real person inside. Perhaps that is the profound reason why the two, although initially planning to use each other as chess pieces, gradually feel more comfortable and sincere with each other than any other relationship in the past.

"Thank you for trusting me to tell me." He said, his voice sincere. "I know this is not an easy thing to share."

"In return, perhaps at some point, you should tell me your secret." Bach Duong replied, her eyes looking at him were full of meaning. "I have the feeling that a normal technology vehicle driver cannot have such a calm and sharp attitude in all situations."

Bach Tan laughed lightly, neither denying nor confirming, just responding with an ambiguous sentence. "When the time is right, I will tell you everything."

The two looked at each other, a new tacit understanding was established — both knew the other was hiding something big, but instead of being suspicious, they chose to patiently wait for the right moment for both of them to fully reveal themselves to each other.

After dinner, when Bach Duong returned to her room, Bach Tan sat alone in the living room and called Dang Huu Khiem to update the situation. "I just learned more about Bach Duong's family background. She is a descendant of Bach Thao Tang, and the seven people you discovered are her fellow senior brothers."

Dang Huu Khiem was silent for a long time, then burst out laughing softly, full of disbelief. "Young master, you really have strange luck. From an impulsive proposal in the middle of anger, you happened to marry someone with a family background that can rival, and in some aspects even surpass, that of your family's corporation."

"This is not luck or calculation at all." Bach Tan replied, his voice was lower and more serious. "This is simply a coincidence that neither of us expected. But no matter what, I don't want to take advantage of her family background for investigation work. I just want to find the traitor with my own abilities, and protect her from any dangers that may arise from this."

"I understand, young master." Dang Huu Khiem replied, his voice serious again. "But you should be careful — if Tony Leung finds out that your wife has such a large network of power behind her, he may see it as a threat that needs to be eliminated before it's too late."

That warning made Bach Tan ponder for a long time after hanging up the phone. His eyes looked towards the dark hallway where Bach Duong was sleeping. A new determination arose in his heart: to speed up the investigation, and at all costs to protect the woman who was gradually becoming more important than anything else in his double life.
