Chapter 20 — My Driver is No. 1 Young Master in the Capital

"Listen to me." Bach Duong whispered quickly to Bach Tan, still observing the tightening siege. "The fuel tanks near the main door — if I could tip them over, the smell of gasoline would cause my subordinates to back off in fear of an explosion, enough for us to create an escape gap. But I need you to create a distraction long enough for me to reach that place."

"Okay." Bach Tan replied immediately, without any hesitation. He took a deep breath, then suddenly rushed towards the largest group of subordinates, not to fight fairly - something he knew he was not capable of - but to shout with the authoritative voice of someone who was used to commanding thousands of employees under his command.

"Do you know who you're working for?" He shouted loudly, his voice echoing throughout the warehouse. "Luong Ba Tuong is about to collapse, Han Chi Kien has long run away! You will be left to suffer alone, while the two masterminds have run away! Whoever puts down their weapons and surrenders right now, I guarantee I will intervene to reduce the crime, in the name of Viet Cuong Group!"

That confident and powerful declaration caused a few subordinates to pause, their eyes clearly wavering - indeed, Han Chi Kien had disappeared from the scene, leaving only Luong Ba Tuong screaming orders from afar without daring to rush directly into danger. Suspicion and wavering spread quickly among the enemy ranks, just as Bach Tan had calculated - those who worked for money would not be willing to trade their lives when they saw that the mastermind had abandoned them.

Taking advantage of that chaotic moment, Bach Duong slipped past the two men standing there, her body as light as the wind, and approached the row of fuel tanks. She threw a strong kick, overturning three large barrels in a row, flammable liquid spilled all over the warehouse floor, the strong smell of gasoline made the subordinates nearby panic and retreat, afraid of the risk of fire and explosion if any sparks appeared.

"Stop! Don't do anything foolish!" A subordinate shouted, dropped his weapon and backed away.

The space that Bach Duong and Bach Tan needed has appeared. The two immediately ran towards each other, leaned back, and gradually retreated towards the back door where Han Chi Kien had just escaped, an area with fewer guards because all the attention was focused on the potential fire ahead.

But Luong Ba Tuong, realizing the two's plan, roared angrily, pulled out a handgun hidden in his body, and aimed straight at Bach Duong. "Stop! No one is allowed to leave here!"

This is the moment where the whole plan can completely collapse. Bach Duong stood still, knowing that at this distance, even her fastest body style was not enough to dodge a straight bullet. But instead of panicking, she looked straight into Luong Ba Tuong's eyes, her voice rang out with unflinching power.

"Are you planning to shoot me, right in front of dozens of witnesses who are your own subordinates?" She said, deliberately stalling for time while her eyes glanced quickly for something she could use. "You confessed your plot, burned the evidence, and now you intend to kill someone right in front of your own accomplices? Do you think they will be loyal to someone who is willing to turn them into accomplices to murder to protect themselves?"

That statement struck right at the fear that was spreading among the ranks of subordinates. Some of them began to back away, not wanting to be involved in a targeted killing, as opposed to simply arresting or threatening as they had been hired to do.

Taking advantage of the moment Luong Ba Tuong was distracted by his subordinate's wavering reaction, Bach Tan - even though he had no martial arts skills - quickly grabbed a broken iron bar lying nearby and threw it hard towards Luong Ba Tuong's gun-holding hand. The throw was not strong enough to cause injury, but accurate enough to startle him, the gun deflected at the decisive moment.

Bach Duong did not miss the opportunity. She rushed forward at lightning speed, with a precise shot that locked Luong Ba Tuong's wrist, twisted hard, causing the gun to fall to the ground. At the same time, a blow to Kien Tinh's acupuncture point made his whole body paralyzed, collapsing to the warehouse floor, completely losing the ability to resist.

"It's over, Luong Ba Tuong." Bach Duong said, standing tall above him, her breathing was still steady even though she had just experienced a moment of life and death. "You destroyed yourself, not because of us, but because of your own greed and betrayal."

The few remaining subordinates, witnessing their leader being completely controlled in just a few seconds by a woman, no one dared to continue to resist. They in turn put down their weapons, raised their hands to surrender, some even hastily explained that they were just hired workers, not knowing clearly about the murder plot that Luong Ba Tuong had just ordered.

Bach Tan stood panting, looking around the warehouse full of controlled subordinates. His eyes stopped at Bach Duong with an undisguised admiration. He knew that if it weren't for her quick reflexes and martial arts skills, the two probably wouldn't have been able to survive until the last minute waiting for rescue forces.

At that moment, the sirens of police cars and bright headlights flooded into the warehouse from all sides. Trinh Nam Khuong, leading Bach Thao Duong's security team, and the private security force of Viet Cuong Group personally mobilized by Cung Vinh Thanh, rushed in as soon as the battle had just ended. It turned out that the tracking device hidden on Bach Duong's body was not a lie to buy time - it had been silently guiding the rescue force from the beginning, it was just that they deliberately waited, letting the two of them create enough chaos and evidence themselves before swooping in to capture the entire gang, avoiding the risk of the opponent escaping if they acted too early.

"Bach Duong!" Trinh Nam Khuong ran over, his eyes filled with worry when he saw the wound on her hand. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, just a small scratch." She replied, smiling with relief. "We took care of most of it ourselves, you came just in time to clean up the rest."

At the back door, another group of security guards promptly stopped Han Chi Kien who was trying to escape in a parked car, handcuffing him on the spot before leaving the warehouse area.

Cung Vinh Thanh walked over and looked at his son with both worried and proud eyes. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, dad." Bach Tan replied, breathing a sigh of relief when he saw Bach Duong safely standing next to him. "And now, we have enough evidence, both direct confessions and witnesses, to bring Luong Ba Tuong and Han Chi Kien before the law."

Cung Vinh Thanh looked at Luong Ba Tuong who was being escorted, his face showed pain mixed with deep disappointment of a person who had just discovered that his trusted right-hand man for twenty years was actually the most cruel traitor. "Twenty years, Luong Ba Tuong. Twenty years I trusted you like a brother. Why?"

Luong Ba Tuong, even though he was completely controlled, still raised his head, his eyes full of bitterness. "Because for those twenty years, I was always just a shadow behind you, working hard to build a business that ultimately belonged to the Cung family, never mine. I just wanted a portion worthy of the effort I put in, but you never thought about sharing true power with me."

"You could have had that, if you had chosen the path of honesty instead of betrayal." Cung Vinh Thanh replied, his voice was sad. "Now, you will lose everything, including the last respect I ever had for you."

Bach Duong stood next to Bach Tan, looking at the entire scene unfolding before her eyes, feeling a great relief spread throughout his body. The war ended, not thanks to luck or simple outside aid, but thanks to the intelligence, bravery, and good coordination between the two people who together faced the danger to the end.

"We did it." She said, turning to look at Bach Tan, her eyes shining with sincere joy.

"We did it." Bach Tan repeated, holding her hand tightly, his eyes filled with deep respect for the woman who had accompanied him through the most dangerous night of both of their lives. "And I think, now, it's time for us to talk about what's truly in our hearts, without any secrets or barriers anymore."

An ambulance was called to bandage the small wound on Bach Duong's hand, although she insisted that she did not need professional medical care because she was capable of treating it herself. Bach Tan stood next to her, determined not to leave her side until he personally saw the carefully bandaged wound.

That night, when the police finished escorting the entire gang along with Luong Ba Tuong and Han Chi Kien to the headquarters to file a case, when all the chaos had temporarily calmed down, Bach Duong and Bach Tan sat next to each other on the steps outside the warehouse, the night moonlight shining on their two faces, still showing traces of fatigue but full of relief.

"Thank you." Bach Tan said, his voice was warm. "For everything you've done tonight, and throughout the journey from the day we met until now."

"We're a team, I told you so." Bach Duong replied, smiling tiredly but warmly, resting her head lightly on his shoulder in a rare moment of allowing herself to be weak after a life-and-death battle.
