Chapter 11 — I Have Conceded Enough

I looked at him.

“No position, no salary, no reputation.”

“May I ask where does my responsibility come from?”

"I'm from the Ta family."

“So that's it.”

I nodded. Then she took out Ta Thi's employee card from her bag. Place it on the cabinet in the mysterious entrance.

“Not anymore.”

The eldest brother's face suddenly changed.

“What do you mean?”

“The meaning is on the face of the words.”

“Company property, return it to the company.”

I took out my car keys again.

“This car is registered under Ta Thi's name.”

“Also give it back to me.”

Finally, an additional credit card. Last year my mother worked for me. The limit is very high. I have never used it.

“Please return this card to the family.”

Mom's eyes immediately turned red.

“Tri Vi, do you have to draw such clear boundaries?”

I looked at the pile of things on the cabinet. Employee card. Car keys. Bank card. It's all what they gave me. Every dish is very expensive. But none of it really belongs to me.

“A little clearer division would be better.”

“If I do anything in the future, people will say I rely on the Ta family.”

I picked up the toolbox and walked out. This time, no one stopped me. It wasn't until I stepped out of the main gate that Hua Tinh Mien's sobs echoed from behind me.

“Brother, what should we do about the meeting at 9 o'clock?”

I didn't turn back. Half an hour later, I was at To Yen Thu's studio. When I pushed the door open and walked in, sunlight was shining on the restoration table. A blue French brooch from the late 18th century lies nestled in black velvet. The surface is broken into three. The broken edge also has burn marks. To Yen Thu stood by the window, looking up at me.

“Is it resolved?”

“For now.”

She looked at the toolbox in my hand.

“Did you bring out all the stuff?”

“The important things are here.”

To Yen Thu nodded and pushed a contract in front of me.

“Then sign it.”

I turned to the last page. The partner has stamped. Party B's name is still blank. To Yen Thu gave me a pen.

“Think carefully.”

“Once this project is signed, Ta Thi's side will have no way back.”

I grabbed the pen. Just as I was about to put down my pen, my phone suddenly vibrated frantically. It's the eldest brother. I clicked off. He called again. On the third time, I picked up the phone. The other end of the line is very noisy. It seems like people in the design department are arguing. The eldest brother's voice was cold and scary.

“Ta Tri Vi.”

"Hua Tinh Mien has already had the main stone of her wedding jewelry collection cut."

My pen stopped. The main stone is an extremely rare natural sapphire. Inside there is a feather-shaped capsule. I designed it with a special encrusted pattern. Once cut again, the entire work will lose its core soul. More importantly. That sapphire was a twenty-fifth birthday gift that my biological mother gave me.

“Why did she have it cut?”

“It criticized the shape for not being round enough.”

On the other end of the line, there was the faint sound of Hua Tinh Mien crying.

“I don't know.”

“The second sister did not write in the document that she was not allowed to cut.”

“I just want to make it sparkle more.”

The eldest brother tried to suppress his anger.

“The stone has been brought to the workshop.”

“The cutter is waiting for confirmation.”

“Come over here immediately.”

I said nothing. To Yen Thu stood opposite, quietly observing I. The contract is at hand. The eldest brother's voice rang out again.

“Ta Tri Vi, that's something my mother gave me.”

“Do you really not need it anymore?”

I lowered my eyes and looked at the contract. A few seconds later, I burst out laughing.

“Eldest brother.”

“Didn't you already entrust your entire wedding jewelry collection to her?”

“The master stone is of course also hers.”

The other end of the line was as quiet as a sheet of paper. I picked up the pen and firmly wrote my name at the bottom of the contract page. Ta Tri Vi.

“She can cut it however she wants.”
