Chapter 9 — I Have Conceded Enough

“I just do what everyone has always expected me to do.”

“No more fighting with Hua Tinh Mien.”

I walked to the door. The eldest brother's cold voice rang out from behind:

“If you don't come to the company tomorrow, don't regret it.”

“There will be no regrets.”

"I thought that after leaving Ta Thi, there is still someone outside who can give me such a good foundation?"

I grabbed the door handle.

“Then there's no need for Mr. Ta to worry.”

Before the door closed, I heard the sound of glass breaking. Probably the eldest brother threw it. His temper has always been very hot-tempered. But no one ever forced him to go abroad to reflect on himself.

The next morning, I was awakened by a knock on the door. Aunt Tran stood outside.

“Eldest Miss, Second Miss said the design department is meeting at nine o'clock and would like to invite you to come over there with us.”

“I'm not going.”

“But the young master told the driver to wait outside.”

“Tell him to bring Hua Tinh Mien.”

Aunt Tran looks awkward.

“The second lady said that the wedding jewelry collection was designed by her, she was afraid that if she made it herself she wouldn't understand.”

“There are clear instructions in the document.”

“She said she still wants to hear you explain in person.”

I threw off the blanket and got out of bed.

“Aunt Tran.”

“Yes?”

“Who is in charge of that project now?”

“Probably the second lady.”

“Then you should tell her to go and think about it herself.”

Aunt Tran was stunned. Auntie has worked at the Ta family for many years. This was probably the first time she heard me use such a calm tone to refuse. I also refused before. But I will get angry, I will question, I will slam the door. In the end, the mother cried, the eldest brother got angry, and the father said "must think about the big picture". I will still have to compromise. Because I am insecure about the project. Nor was he willing to watch Ta Thi's enthusiasm be destroyed just because of a foolish decision of theirs. So they gradually drew conclusions. Just push the responsibility onto me, I'll never really let go. But now it's different. The project is not mine. Neither does Ta Thi. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, then went downstairs. In the dining room, Hua Tinh Mien wore a light pink suit with her hair tied in a neat, delicate bun. On the table lies my USB. He stayed up all night, pale dark circles appearing under his eyelids. Seeing me, it immediately stood up.

“Sister.”

“Are you really not going to come with me to the company?”

“Don't go.”

“But I can't read and understand your project schedule.”

“The design department has readers.”

“They refuse to cooperate with me.”

“Why?”

He bit his lip.

“They probably think you stole my position.”

“Is that right?”

“Of course not.”

It hastily explained.

“My brother just told me to try first.”

“Wait until I feel better, I will still come back.”

I pulled out the chair and sat down. On the table are all the breakfast foods he likes to eat. Sweet porridge, shrimp dumplings, char siu dumplings. I don't like eating sweets. Aunt Tran brought me a cup of black coffee. Hua Tinh Mien stared at my coffee cup.

“Sister, are you still angry?”

“No.”

“So can you help me?”

He walked next to me and gently grabbed my wrist.

“The draft of the wedding jewelry collection was designed by herself.”

“If you don't do well, Mr. Tram Le will also be disappointed.”

“What does it have to do with him being disappointed? I?"

Hua Tinh Mien's eyes immediately turned red.

“Sister, I know you still can't let him go.”

“When you help me, you also help yourself.”

I took a sip of coffee. Very bitter. But very alert.

“Hua Tinh Mien.”

“Yes?”

“You want my fiance, I give in.”

“You wanted my bedroom, I gave it to you.”

“Now you want my position, I still give it to you.”

“But you can't take that position and then turn around and ask me to do it for you.”

The blood on its face receded little by little.

“I don't have…”
