Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — I Have Conceded Enough
“Things have never been decided yet.”
I turned my head to look at him.
“The ring is still with Hua Tinh Mien.”
“I'll tell her to give it back to you.”
“I don't need it.”
His face immediately sank. Dad raised his hand to interrupt us.
“Let's talk about the engagement later.”
“Tonight's party has been cancelled, dad will send someone to deal with the gossip outside.”
"Tinh Mien's mood is unstable, so don't mention the engagement for now."
I nodded.
“Okay.”
Dad stared at me. Perhaps he also felt that I agreed too easily.
“More.”
“Recently, Tinh Mien is preparing to intern at the company.”
“He studies art management and is also interested in jewelry design.”
“After you return to the company, let him follow you and learn from you.”
Finally, getting to the main issue. I opened my bag and took out the contract from earlier. Push onto the table.
“Just good.”
“What is this?”
The eldest brother took it. With just one glance, his face changed color.
“Resignation letter?”
My mother looked at me startled.
“Tri Vi, do you want to resign?”
“Yes.”
The eldest brother quickly turned to the last page. The signing date was three months ago.
“Three months ago you were ready to resign?”
“Yes.”
“Why didn't anyone tell you?”
“I already sent the email.”
“I didn't receive it.”
“Sent to the general manager's office, human resources department and legal department.”
The eldest brother's face was gray.
“They haven't approved it yet.”
“Labor contract expires, no approval required.”
One year I was at a foreign branch, and the contract just reached its final term. When he sent me there, he probably never thought about this. After all, in his eyes, no matter where I was thrown away, I would still obediently return to the Ta family. I joined the company when I was eighteen years old. Twenty-two years old, head of the design team. More than half of Ta Thi's major collections in the last three years are products created by me. They are used to me belonging to the Ta family. So naturally, my abilities also belong to the Ta family. The eldest brother threw his resignation letter on the table.
“No way.”
“I just returned home, my mood is unstable.”
"Let's talk about resignation later."
“It is already in effect.”
“Ta Tri Vi!”
“Eldest brother.”
I looked at him.
“Do you use your identity as General Director Ta Thi to refuse an employee who is legally leaving, or do you use your identity as a family member to ask me to stay?”
He was stunned. I waited a few seconds. He didn't answer.
“I understand.”
I took back my resignation letter.
“The general director does not have the right to retain employees whose contracts have expired.”
“Eldest brother didn't open his mouth to hold me back.”
His hand suddenly tightened. Mother quickly stood up to make peace.
“Tri Vi, your brother doesn't mean that.”
“The company is short of people.”
“I've been working for so many years, and now I'm suddenly leaving, what should I do with so many projects?”
“All work handover documents have been prepared.”
I took out a USB and placed it on the table.
“Project progress this quarter, supplier list, design department staffing, customer requests, it's all in there.”
“I have already signed all the documents that need to be signed.”
“It won't have any impact on the company.”
Dad's face became more and more unsightly.
"You're really well prepared."
“Yes Just do that.”
“If that's the case, then there's no need to resign.”
“The company cannot do without you, and you don't need family matters to affect your work.”
"I'm not interested in family matters."
“So what for?”
“Want to change place.”
“Change to where?”
“Still undecided.”
I lied. To Yen Thu's studio has been waiting for me for a long time. The first independent project has already been discussed, the contract only lacks my signature. Just don't need to let them know for now. My father is used to arranging places for me to go home.
