Chapter 6 — My Husband's Secretary Announced Pregnancy

Updated 10/08/2026 5 min read

Sure enough, after a few minutes of being dumbfounded, Tram Mac suddenly jumped up from the ground. But his target… was not me — but Lam Uyen. Before anyone could react, he grabbed Lam Uyen's arm, pulled her towards him, and his other hand tightened around her neck.

“Don't anyone move!” Tram Mac screamed at us, his eyes were red as if they were about to bleed. "To Thanh, you are very good, aren't you? Haven't you calculated everything? Have you considered this!"

Lam Uyen was strangled until her face turned purple, her hands desperately tried to break his arm, her throat only emitted wheezing sounds, her eyes filled with extreme fear.

"Tram Mac! Are you crazy?" Her parents-in-law were scared to death and screamed.

“I'm not crazy!” Tram Mac growled, his hand squeezing Lam Uyen's neck even tighter. "It was you who forced me! It was you who pushed me to the end!"

He pulled Lam Uyen, who was almost suffocated, step by step back until his back touched the wall.

"To Thanh! Tear all those things for me!" he ordered. "The divorce contract, with all that damn evidence, tear it all up! Then give me more than three million! Otherwise, I'll strangle her to death! One body, two lives!"

The mother-in-law was so scared that her legs softened, she cried and screamed: "My child! Let go! That's your child! You will go to jail!"

“Shut up!” Tram Mac turned and screamed at his mother. "If you weren't useless, I wouldn't have needed to do this! Now get out! Get out!"

The living room immediately became a mess. Her father-in-law wanted to move forward but didn't dare. Her mother-in-law sat on the ground and could only cry. It's just me — still sitting on the sofa. I looked at Tram Mac like a crazy person, looking at Lam Uyen being held hostage by him, my eyes were about to roll back, but my heart was not tense at all. Even... I wanted to laugh a little. He thought this was his last trump card. Little did he know, this was the last "East wind", I sent him on his way. I didn't move, just coldly watched him act.

“Didn't you hear, To Thanh!” Seeing that I didn't react, Tram Mac became even more frantic. "I told you to tear it up! Send me the money! Hurry up!"

“Tram Mac,” I finally said, my voice not loud but extremely clear, “look behind you.”

Tram Mac froze for a second and instinctively turned his head to look. The moment he turned his head, two figures dressed in police uniforms rushed out from the master bedroom. One person strode forward, with precise control movements, and in the blink of an eye, he knocked Tram Mac to the ground. One policeman quickly pulled Lam Uyen away from him, the other used his knee to press down on his back, bent his arms back and put cold handcuffs on his wrists. It all happened lightning fast. Tram Mac was pressed against the cold floor, his mind completely blank. He couldn't even understand where the police came from. When Lam Uyen was rescued, she collapsed to the ground, clutching her neck, coughing, panting violently, with tears and runny nose streaming down her face. Her parents-in-law were also completely petrified, staring blankly at the scene before them - just like a police crime movie. I stood up, walked in front of Tram Mac, and looked down at him from above.

“Tram Mac, are you curious — when did they come from?”

I gently shook the phone in my hand, the screen was still stuck on the call history interface.

“After I texted your parents, saying something funny happened needed to be announced, I made a second call.”

"I told the operator that I suspected my husband had a tendency towards domestic violence, was extremely mentally unstable, and I was worried he would harm me and my family. I gave my address, and made it clear that my door was not locked. When I arrived, I could climb straight in from the master bedroom window and wait there."

My main bedroom has a large balcony, climbing in is as easy as turning a hand.

“I thought you would pull the fence together, but I didn't expect you to choose to use your own son's life to threaten me.” I shook my head and looked at him. “Tram Mac, you really 'surprise' me time and time again.”

Tram Mac was pinned to the ground, his wrists aching from the number 8 handcuffs. He raised his head and glared at me. In his eyes, in addition to hatred, there was also a completely crushed despair. He finally understood—from the moment I saw that message, he fell into the endless trap I set for him. Every step he takes is within my calculations. He lost. Lost miserably. Two policemen helped Tram Mac up from the ground.

“Crimes of intentionally causing injury, kidnapping, intimidation — many crimes combined.” A policeman told him, “Please follow us to the station.”

Tram Mac did not resist, he was like a dead dog, being dragged out. As he passed me, he stopped and asked hoarsely:

“Why what?”

“Why… does it have to be so cruel?” He looked at me, "After all, we were once husband and wife."

I looked at him, smiling.

"Tram Mac, from the moment you betrayed me, there is no longer the word 'husband and wife' between us."

“I just, take back what belongs to me. Conveniently… take you to where you should go.”

He was escorted out of the house by police. The living room was finally quiet again. Only the stupor of her parents-in-law and Lam Uyen's gasps remained after escaping the accident. I walked over to the divorce agreement, picked up the pen, signed my name at the bottom of the page: Then, I pushed the agreement into the middle of the living room.

“Now, no one is forcing anything anymore.”

“Let's discuss… how the debt of five million, and the baby in her womb, should be handled.”
