Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — Queen of the Zombie Picky Eaters
Khuong Le was still biting me, his eyes completely blank. I held the back of her neck and felt the needle. Professor Lam shouted:
“Don't pull it out, it will break inside!”
Co Nghien's voice rang out again.
“Dao Dao, you can't pull out. She'll bite you through first.”
I looked towards the loudspeaker.
“Co Nghien, do you know why I only bite people over six feet tall?”
The other side was silent for a moment.
“Because I am vain.”
“Wrong.”
I used my teeth to bite my wrist, bringing blood to Khuong Le's mouth. She let go of my shoulder and bit my wrist. When she changed her biting position, I stuck my finger into the wound on the back of my neck and squeezed the needle. The one who is hurt is her. But Co Nghien's voice trembled.
“Khuong Dao, stop!”
I burst out laughing.
“Because people over one meter tall have long bones, making it easier to remove.”
I pulled out the needle. Khuong Le fell into my arms. The roar of the zombies outside immediately stopped. On the speaker, there was only the sound of Co Nghien's rapid breathing. Tham Tan pressed team leader Trieu to the ground. Captain Trieu's son picked up the needle and gave it to Professor Lam.
“Can this prove that Co Nghien controlled her?”
Professor Lam said:
“Maybe.”
Captain Trieu struggled and shouted:
“I can testify too! I can testify!”
I looked at him.
“Now he testifies not because his conscience is awakened, but because he is afraid of death.”
Captain Trieu couldn't say anything. Tham Tan walked to the loudspeaker.
“Co Nghien, tomorrow noon, negotiate outside the base.”
Co Nghien asked:
“On what basis do you negotiate with me?”
Tham Tan looked at me.
“Based on who you want is with me.”
The next day at noon, there was a table outside the base. Tham Tan sat on one side, Co Nghien sat on the other. I sat next to Tham Tan, holding a bag of plasma in my hand. Khuong Le sat behind me, wearing my shirt. Seeing her, Co Nghien's face was very ugly.
“You took out the needle.”
Professor Lam placed a glass tube on the table.
“Your belongings, return them to the original owner.”
Co Nghien said:
"Lam Tri Van, don't forget that year it was you who signed Khuong Dao into the infected area."
Professor Lam took out another set of documents.
"I signed the transfer order for treatment. The page that requested destruction was replaced by you later."
Co Nghien laughed:
“Who believes?”
Tham Tan pushed someone away. The researcher once bowed his head to look at Co Nghien's heels. That person's face was as white as paper.
“I believe.”
Co Nghien looked at him. The researcher immediately said:
"Mr. Co, I helped you exchange the documents. The needle on Khuong Le's body was also implanted by me. You said that as long as the government accepts you, it won't be a pity for the others to die."
Co Nghien slapped him. The researcher fell to the ground, crawled up and continued shouting:
"You even forced me to lie about my height!"
The whole school was silent for a second. I almost spit out the plasma. Tham Tan rubbed his forehead. Co Nghien completely lost face.
“Useless thing.”
He raised his hand and the back car door opened. More than ten converted zombies rushed out. They are faster than normal zombies, and have black needles stuck in their necks. The negotiating table was overturned. Tham Tan pulled out his gun. I pushed Khuong Le towards Professor Lam.
“Watch over her.”
Co Nghien stood on the roof of the car and shouted:
“Khuong Dao, it's not like you can Control a herd of zombies? Try controlling them.”
I tried. No effect. They're not a bunch of zombies. They are just dogs dragged by pain. A transformed zombie rushed towards Tham Tan. I stood in front of him, biting the zombie's neck. Black blood splattered all over my face. Difficult to drink. Extremely difficult to drink. I let it out and scolded:
“Co Nghien, when making food, can't you pay a little attention to the flavor?”
Tham Tan fired one shot, breaking the black needle. The zombie fell down, not moving. I understand.
“Shoot at the needles.”
Tham Tan immediately ordered:
“Aim for the neck.”
Gunshots rang out continuously. Co Nghien turned around to run. Khuong Le suddenly rushed out, jumped on the roof of the car, and pressed him down.
“You can also taste the feeling of being controlled by someone else.”
She stabbed the black needle into the back of Co Nghien's neck. Co Nghien screamed miserably. When being taken to the base, Co Nghien was still cursing.
“Khuong Dao, I will beg you. Only you can return the memories to my mind.”
I squatted in front of him.
“You take off your shoes first.”
He was stunned.
“What?”
“Measure your height.”
The soldier next to him brought a ruler. Co Nghien was forced to stand close to the wall. As soon as she took off her shoes, her whole body seemed to shrink. One meter seven eight. I shook my head.
“Revocation of status as fiance.”
This time the soldiers couldn't hold back anymore, their laughter rang out uncontrollably. Co Nghien's face turned pale. Professor Lam walked over holding the file.
“Co Nghien, the main city has received the testimony. Your research institute will be taken over.”
Co Nghien raised his head.
“Do you think the main city is clean? The person who wanted Khuong Dao's blood sample back then was the main one."
Tam Tan asked:
“Who?”
Co Nghien closed his mouth. I stood up.
“Don't say anything.”
He stared at me.
“Don't you want to know how you got infected?”
“I want to, but I don't ask for one meter seven eight.”
Co Nghien was so choked that his whole face was distorted. Khuong Le stood at the door and suddenly said:
“I know a name.”
Everyone looked at her. She took out half a label from her sleeve.
“Every time they took my blood, there was this name on the container.”
On the label is written: Luc Hanh. Tham Tan's face darkened. The file in Professor Lam's hand fell on the table. I asked:
“Who is that?”
Tham Tan replied:
“Chief judge of the main city.”
I don't understand how big the position of chief judge is. But looking at Captain Trieu being so scared that he didn't dare raise his head, it certainly wasn't small. Co Nghien burst out laughing.
"If you dare touch me, Luc Hanh will not spare the base."
There were footsteps outside the door. A man wearing a black uniform entered. Over thirty years old, his height seems to be standard, his eyes look like he's looking at a bunch of trash waiting to be processed. The person behind him opened the document.
“Tham Tan hid the infected individual, against the city's ban. Immediately abolish command.”
Luc Hanh looked at me.
“Khuong Dao, follow me.”
Tham Tan stood in front of him. Luc Hanh asked:
“You want to fight against the main city?”
Tham Tan said:
“I want proof.”
Luc Hanh raised his hand. The soldiers of the main city pointed their guns at everyone in the base.
“The evidence is my words that she is guilty.”
The trial was held at the base square. Luc Hanh did not enter the courtroom. He said the square was enough Wide and convenient for everyone to see clearly what I am. I was locked in an iron cage.
