Chapter 7 — Queen of the Zombie Picky Eaters

Co Nghien sat next to him, with a bandage on the back of his head, smiling extremely happily. Captain Trieu was also escorted to testify. As soon as he saw Luc Hanh, he immediately changed his testimony.

"It's all because Khuong Dao controlled me! She forced me to give my son medicine!"

His son rushed up and slapped him.

“Do you still need face?”

Captain Trieu covered his face.

“What do you know? The main city can save us!”

Luc Hanh didn't even look at the two of them.

"Infected individual Khuong Dao, the first crime is controlling a group of zombies to threaten the base. The second crime is causing infection in the inner city. The third crime is luring commander Tham Tan to betray."

I asked:

"Where is the fourth crime? Criticizing your height?"

Some people in the square bowed their heads and laughed, then immediately tried to hold back. Luc Hanh looked at me.

“You are very good at pretending to be crazy.”

“How tall are you?”

The soldier next to him shouted:

“Insolent!”

Luc Hanh raised his hand to stop.

“One meter eight six.”

I seriously observed for a while.

“The sole is not bad.”

Luc Hanh's face turned cold. Professor Lam walked out.

“I have evidence to prove that the infection in the inner city was caused by captain Trieu and Co Nghien.”

Luc Hanh said:

“Your evidence is inadmissible.”

Tam Tan asked:

“Based on what?”

“Based on the fact that that year you participated in the plan for infected people to stay awake.”

The square became chaotic again. Professor Lam's face turned pale. Luc Hanh took out a stamped document.

"Khuong Dao is not the victim. She voluntarily got infected."

I looked at the signature on the document. That's my handwriting. Co Nghien burst out laughing.

"Dao Dao, remember? You walked into the infected area yourself and said you agreed to become the first test sample."

The way everyone looked at me changed again. Tham Tan also looked at me. I grabbed the bars. It was as if someone else had filled my head with countless pieces of broken glass. White light, operating table, Professor Lam's screams, Co Nghien's smile. There's also my own voice. Let me in. I have to save him. Luc Hanh said:

“Execution.”

The soldiers of the main city raised their guns. Tham Tan pulled out his gun and blocked it in front of the iron cage. Luc Hanh laughed.

“Execution together.”

Before the gunshots rang out, the zombies outside the city took action. Not rushing towards the base. Instead, he rushed towards the soldiers of the main city. The one meter seven nine guy jumped out from the rubble and punched down the man who was raising the gun. I was stunned. I never gave any orders. Khuong Le stood on the edge of the square, the corner of his mouth full of blood. She bit her wrist.

“Sister, you can call them too.”

Professor Lam rushed forward to hold her back. Luc Hanh's face finally changed.

“Number two is also out of control, kill her!”

Tham Tan dropped the gun in the soldiers' hands. This time, the base's soldiers did not hesitate, all standing behind Tham Tan. The deputy captain scolded:

"The city sees us as dead people and orders them around, but still wants to come here and kill our people. What the hell is the ban!"

Captain Trieu knelt and crawled towards Luc Hanh.

"Chief judge Luc, save me! I always listen to you."

Luc Hanh bowed his head to look at him.

“Waste has no value in repair.”

He kicked Captain Trieu towards the group of zombies. Captain Trieu's son rushed forward to pull him. Seeing this scene, My tooth roots are painful.

“Stupid.”

I grabbed the bars and used my strength to break them. The iron bar bends down. Co Nghien shouted:

"No way! You were clearly oppressed!"

I stepped out of the iron cage.

“What you call oppression is just because I haven't eaten enough.”

Tham Tan threw me a knife. I caught it, rushed towards the group of zombies, and pulled Captain Trieu and his son back. Team leader Trieu lay on the ground, crying so much that tears and runny nose were running down his face.

“Why did you save me?”

“If I don't save you, your son will also die.”

His son supported his father, tears falling to the ground.

“Khuong Dao, thank you.”

This thank you is more valuable than his father's. Luc Hanh turned around to leave. Co Nghien also wanted to run. Khuong Le stopped Co Nghien. Tham Tan blocked Luc Hanh. Professor Lam held up the file of documents voluntarily infected with the disease.

“Luc Hanh, you're missing a page.”

Luc Hanh stopped walking. Professor Lam said:

“The condition for Khuong Dao to voluntarily get infected is to save Tham Tan and return.”

I looked at Tham Tan. Tham Tan also looked at me. Turns out this wasn't the first time I wanted him. The memories that came back were so absurd. I stood on the square, suddenly seeing myself three years ago. At that time, the epidemic had just broken out, Tham Tan led the team to save people, trapped in the basement of the research institute. Co Nghien said there is only one way. Let a living person receive the reagent and lead the zombies away. I asked for success rate. Co Nghien said half of it. Professor Lam scolded him for lying. I saw myself signing my name, entering the infected area. Tham Tan was on the other side of the glass door, banging on the door, his hands covered in blood. He called my name. I turned around and said:

“Wait until I return, remember to be nine feet tall.”

The memory stopped at the moment the zombies rushed forward. I raised my head to look at Tham Tan.

“How tall were you that year?”

Tham Tan said:

“One meter eight nine.”

“So you tried quite hard.”

He didn't smile. He walked over and removed the chains on my wrists.

“Khuong Dao, I owe you my life.”

“Don't talk nonsense.”

“What do you want?”

“Blood.”

He extended his wrist towards me. I don't bite. I said:

“Temporary debit.”

Luc Hanh suddenly burst out laughing.

"So touching. Unfortunately none of you can leave today."

He pressed the controller in his hand. The iron box behind the main citadel convoy opened. Inside were dozens of semi-conscious infected people. All were dressed in white hospital gowns, with blank eyes. Khuong Le saw them and cried loudly:

“They're still alive!”

At the chaos, Co Nghe rushed in to steal the remote control. Luc Hanh turned around and shot him through the leg.

“Something like you deserves to touch my things?”

Co Nghien fell to the ground, finally afraid.

"Luc Hanh, you sent me to do it!"

Luc Hanh asked:

“Where is the evidence?”

I picked up the black needle from the ground.

“Yes.”

He looked at me. I stabbed the black needle into Co Nghien's arm. Co Nghien screamed miserably, revealing a string of names. Main city, research institute, transport vehicle, warehouse for living people. Every word pounded on the square. Luc Hanh's soldiers began to retreat. Tham Tan raised his gun.

“Luc Hanh, you have been arrested.”

Luc Hanh asked:

“Only rely on you?”

On the city wall, all the base's guns were pointed at him. Captain Trieu's son also raised his gun.

“Rely on us.”

Luc Hanh refused to surrender row. He released all the infected people. The square was completely chaotic. Normal zombies are afraid of me. These semi-conscious infected people are not afraid. They have been in pain for so long that they can no longer distinguish who is the enemy.
