Chapter 14
Chapter 14 — Recruitment Spots Stolen
"Just heard the recording."
"My first reaction was not suspicion."
"It's fear."
Phuong Man's fingers tightened on the edge of the table. Nham Canh Hoa immediately interjected.
"Advisor Khuong."
"We're talking about today's recruitment right now."
"Please don't mix your personal matters into it."
I turned to look at him.
"If seven years ago..."
"They also use this exact same method."
"Then it's no longer personal."
"It's a mechanism that has existed for many years."
Finally, the Chairman spoke in a cold voice.
"Khuong An Ninh."
"With my current mood..."
"You are not suitable to continue participating."
I smiled softly.
"Mr. President."
"I'm very calm now."
"Even calmer than the day I received the disqualification email seven years ago."
Ha Minh Xuyen turned to the Inspection Department Manager.
"Extract records of the Young Talents Program seven years ago."
The manager of the Inspection Department looked awkward.
"General Manager Ha."
"Part of the records from seven years ago may have been saved in historical archives."
"Need access."
Ha Minh Xuyen replied immediately.
"I grant permission."
The Chairman gently tapped his cane on the floor.
"I don't agree."
Those four words... Make everyone stop. Ha Minh Xuyen looked at him. The Chairman replied:
"The records involve a lot of personal information about candidates."
"You can't just arbitrarily search for an unverified recording."
I said calmly.
"The scope can be limited."
"Just checking my profile."
The Chairman looked at me.
"Are you sure?"
"If there's no problem in there..."
"Any conclusions you make today will have to bear the consequences yourself."
I replied immediately. So fast that... Even Ha Minh Xuyen frowned slightly. The Chairman looked at me for a long time. He turned to the Head of the Board of Directors Office.
"Tell the archives department to bring the files."
Nham Canh Hoa clearly does not want to. But the Chairman spoke up. He had no choice but to take out his phone. He walked out the door to make a call. The voice dropped very low. Look at his back. I suddenly spoke up.
"Director Nham."
He turned his head.
"You better call the archives right in front of the Legal department."
"To avoid another 'misunderstanding of the process' on the way."
Nham Canh Hoa's face immediately became very unsightly. The Head of the Legal Department stepped up.
"I'll come along to confirm."
He had no way to refuse. Ten minutes later. People from the archives department brought the files. It was a fairly young female employee. In her lap she held a sealed box of documents. The seal is still intact. However, her expression was extremely tense.
"This is the profile of the third batch of candidates of the Young Talent Program seven years ago."
"Khuong An Ninh's personal profile is in here."
The Inspection Department manager received the file box. Then, right in front of everyone, he carefully removed the seal. As each document sheet is taken out. I thought I would no longer have emotions. But until I saw my old photo. My hand... Still squeezing gently. In the photo. I am much younger now. The eyes are also brighter. I still believe that. Just need enough capacity. Then you will receive a fair position. The Inspection Board manager flipped through each file page. Written test scores. Evaluation of professional rounds. Foreign language test results. All are all very high. Until the last page. Final review. He stopped. The entire meeting room watched his hand. Ha Minh Xuyen spoke up. The Inspectorate Manager raised his head and looked at me. The voice was a bit hesitant.
"Reasons for disqualification in the final evaluation round."
"Quality Risk."
I heard clearly... Phuong Man's breath stopped. Ha Minh Xuyen's face instantly became gloomy.
"Specific basis?"
The Inspectorate Manager continued reading.
"The candidate has inappropriate exposure to interests with the collaborating entity."
"Suspected that he knew the interview content in advance."
"Recommend permanent non-recruitment."
Someone in the meeting room took a deep breath. On the contrary... I laughed. No wonder that year... I only received a vague email. No wonder after that... Thinh Hoa never contacted me again. It's not because they think I'm not excellent enough. They put a hat on my head. A hat that I... have never seen before.
"Where's the evidence?"
The Inspection Board manager continued to turn over the file.
"The appendix is missing."
"Only the final evaluation conclusion remains."
Nham Canh Hoa immediately spoke up.
"It's very common for records to go missing after seven years."
I looked straight at him.
"The conclusion remains."
"Only evidence is lost."
"You see..."
"Is that normal?"
Nham Canh Hoa immediately became speechless. Ha Minh Xuyen reached out to take the last page. Just took a quick look. His face changed. I noticed his fingertips stiffen slightly.
"What's up?"
He didn't answer right away. I walked over. His eyes fell on the lower right corner of the paper. Signed by the person in charge of reviewing the final results. Ha Minh Xuyen.
