Chapter 16
Chapter 16 — Wedding Day Without Bride
"This is the money you transferred to Tri Ha, this is the message you sent him to Cang Thanh to register the marriage. You said that Khuong Van is blind and easy to manipulate, give Khuong Van a wedding, give Tri Ha a marriage certificate, wait for the baby to be born and then send Khuong Van to the hospital."
Pho Thinh Lan turned around to look at Pho's mother:
“Mom?”
Pho's mother took a half step back:
“Mom did it for the Pho family.”
Pho Thinh Lan seemed to have been drained of her last strength. Khuong Van looked at this scene, without feeling gloating in her heart, only a kind of bone-chilling calmness. Hua's mother cried:
"Pho Thinh Lan, say something! Is the baby in Tri Ha's womb yours?"
Deputy Thinh Lan was silent. In the guest row, the Pho family's cousin suddenly raised her hand:
"Auntie Hua, don't rush to accept your relatives. Last night I picked up an ultrasound form at the hospital gate."
The girl took out her phone and opened a photo:
"Hua Tri Ha's pregnancy week does not match the time she returned home. Before she returned home, Pho Thinh Lan had never been to Cang Thanh."
Hua's mother's face suddenly turned pale. Pho's mother shouted: "What do you mean?" Her cousin's voice was not loud, but very clear:
“I mean, this child may not have the surname Pho.”
Pho Thinh Lan stared at the photo, blue veins appearing on the back of his hand. Hua's mother rushed forward to steal the phone:
"Fake! What do you understand when you have a dirty nose like you!"
The cousin hid behind Aunt Trieu:
"Fake or not, go see a doctor and you'll know."
This time Pho's mother could no longer maintain her arrogant appearance and roared at Hua's mother: "You Hua family lied to me?" Hua's mother was also angry:
"It's the Pho family, you guys show your face and come find me first! She criticized Khuong Van for not being able to give birth, and regretted her money and reputation, so she took Tri Ha instead!"
The whole school ended up in complete chaos. Pho Thinh Lan stood in the middle, listening to her mother and Hua's mother bite and tear each other, the blood on her face gradually fading away. Khuong Van took the microphone.
“Gentlemen, there is no wedding today. Just one thing.”
She took out the ring box she had prepared to return from her pocket and placed it right in the middle of the ceremony platform.
“Pho Thinh Lan, from this moment on, I will take back everything the Khuong family gave you, one by one.”
* Pho Thinh Lan chased him outside the hotel. As soon as Khuong Van got into the car, he held the car door:
“Van Van, I really don't know that my mother and the Hua family did these things.”
Aunt Trieu sat in the co-pilot's seat and scolded: "You don't know? You don't know that Hua Tri Ha is pregnant? Don't know about the marriage registration? Don't know the pre-arranged surgery schedule?" Pho Thinh Lan looked at Khuong Van:
"I admit I was wrong. But I never thought I would harm you. I thought it was just a blood reserve, I really didn't want to take your life."
Khuong Van calmly asked: "So what do you want from me?" He was speechless.
“You want my money, you want my paintings, you want my gratitude, you want me to smile at the wedding to cover up the evil of you and Hua Tri Ha.” Khuong Van closed the car door, "Pho Thinh Lan, you are too greedy."
When the car drove away, Pho Tinh Lan stood rooted to the spot, not chasing anymore. Khuong Van returned to her old house, a black car was parked in front of the door. Aunt Lam stepped down from the car, holding a wooden box:
“Van Van.”
Khuong Van step forward quickly. Aunt Lam looked at her from head to toe, there were tears in her eyes but she tried not to let them fall:
“Is your eye really healed?”
“It's okay.”
Aunt Lam smiled, then immediately darkened her face:
"If I'm cured, I'm still hiding it from my aunt. If my mother were still alive, she would definitely scold me before hugging me."
Khuong Van picked up the wooden box:
“What's inside, auntie?”
Aunt Lam lowered her voice:
