Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — Wedding Day Without Bride
“It's been three months, right?”
“Do you like sour or spicy food?”
"Thin Lan must pay attention, the Pho family now only depends on this child."
Khuong Van is exactly like an outsider. Pho's mother tapped the bowl:
"The wedding ceremony order has been revised. At the tea offering, after Van Van finishes honoring my tea, Tri Ha will also go on stage. She is the child's mother, she cannot help but have a title."
Khuong Van asked: "What is your status?" Pho's mother replied: "Foster sister." At the banquet table, someone laughed. Hua Tri Ha bowed her head:
“Auntie, don't make things difficult for Miss Khuong.”
Pho's mother clapped her hand:
“Only you understand.”
Khuong Van put down her chopsticks:
"During the wedding, you let the woman who is pregnant with your son's child be your adopted sister. I don't feel dirty, but the guests won't be stupid either."
The second uncle of the Pho family immediately darkened his face:
"Khuong Van, how do you talk to your elders?"
Khuong Van turned to him:
“Tell the truth.”
Pho Thinh Lan pressed her wrist:
“Van Van, let's eat.”
Khuong Van withdrew his hand. Pho's mother was quarreled in front of many people, her face lost all dignity:
"You haven't even stepped through the door yet, are you already pretending to be a young lady? The Khuong family has long been extinct, do you think there is anyone else who has your back?"
A young cousin whispered: "Actually, what Khuong said is not wrong." Pho's mother glared:
“Is it your turn to speak up?”
The cousin fell silent, her ears turned red. This is the first crack. Pho's mother took the guest list and threw it in front of Khuong Van:
"This is the wedding guest list. You don't need to invite many people at your family, so you won't lose face."
Khuong Van glanced over. On the list, an old friend of the Khuong family has been completely crossed out. The name Hua Tri Ha is written in the first position of the bride's family's distinguished guest seats. Khuong Van asked Pho Thinh Lan: "Is this your decision?" Pho Thinh Lan was silent for a moment:
“I just want to save face for the bride's family.”
Khuong Van burst out laughing:
"At my wedding, the bride's family's distinguished guest is Hua Tri Ha?"
Hua Tri Ha quickly said: "You can't go." Pho's mother is not happy:
"You have to go. The baby is a blessing to the Pho family."
Khuong Van stood up:
"So I can't swallow this meal."
Deputy Thinh Lan also stood up:
“Van Van.”
Pho's mother slammed her chopsticks on the table:
“If you dare to step out of here today, you won't be able to get married anymore!”
Khuong Van stopped walking. A look of joy appeared in Hua Tri Ha's eyes. Pho Thinh Lan looked at Khuong Van, as if waiting for her to give in. Khuong Van turned back:
“Deputy uncle, you better remember this sentence carefully.”
Pho's mother sneered:
“What, you still want to threaten me?”
Khuong Van picked up the stick to find the way:
“Don't do it, it's my opinion.”
Deputy Thinh Lan chased all the way to the door:
"Can you not be so stubborn every time? It's true that Tri Ha is pregnant, I can't help but worry."
Khuong Van asked him: "What about you?" A tired look flashed across Pho Thinh Lan's face:
"I didn't say I didn't care about you. Why do you always have to fight?"
Khuong Van looked at him:
“Pho Thinh Lan, what I fought for was never the child in Hua Tri Ha's belly.”
“So what is it?”
Khuong Van did not answer and walked down the steps. Her cousin secretly chased after her, stuffing a piece of paper into her hand she:
"Miss Khuong, I found this in the study room. Don't tell me I gave it to you."
Khuong Van touched the corner of the paper and said softly: "Thank you." After sitting in the taxi, she opened the paper. On it was written a line: *"Surgery schedule: Hua Tri Ha. Tested compatible: Khuong Van, admitted to the hospital after the wedding."* * Khuong Van took that paper to the hospital. When Pho Thinh Lan rushed over, she was standing in front of the nurse's counter.
“Van Van, why didn't you tell me when you went to the hospital?”
Khuong Van gave him the paper:
“What is this?”
