Chapter 12
Chapter 12 — After Doctor Diep Disappeared
The invitation to the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Co Thi Group was embossed with brilliant gold foil, the invitation used high-quality handmade cotton paper, and the names of Co Han Chau and Diep Nam Sanh were printed on it. Print side by side. Trieu Minh - Co Han Chau's special assistant - personally came to the hospital to pick up people, brought a makeup artist and a plastic surgeon, pushed two suitcases and entered the hospital room. Diep Nam Sanh sat on the edge of the bed, glancing at the open suitcase. Inside hangs a long, wine-red evening dress, the collar is studded with sparkling crystals. She didn't bother to look twice: "I wear my own clothes." Trieu Minh was stunned: "Lady Gu, this is the thing the boss deliberately ordered to bring back from Paris..."
“Change to a black dress, no need to decorate anything.”
Trieu Minh hesitated for about two seconds, then made a phone call. Half an hour later, a long black dress was delivered, with a very high collar, very long sleeves, without any accents, looking as simple as a mourning outfit worn at a funeral. Diep Nam Sanh went into the bathroom to change clothes and came out. The makeup artist stepped forward to work, but she raised her hand to stop him: "No makeup." The plastic surgeon looked at her with the curling iron, and she shook her head. Hair loose, no curls, no buns, no styling whatsoever. She took out a long black velvet glove from her suitcase and slowly inserted it onto her right hand, pulling it straight from the fingertips up to the elbow. The glove was very thick, covering the bandage, completely hiding all traces underneath. The venue for the dinner party was the hall of the most expensive hotel in North City. Crystal lights hung down from the dome, scattering broken pieces of light all over the ground. When Diep Nam Sanh stepped out of the car, photographers on both sides of the red carpet simultaneously pointed their cameras up. She never stopped walking. The flash light crackled continuously on her face, she didn't blink a single eye, just went straight inside. The banquet hall was more than half full. Celebrities, politicians, and business tycoons stood together holding glasses of champagne, each with a smile on their face as if cast from the same mold. Diep Nam Sanh looked around, found an empty table in the most hidden corner and sat down. The waiter brought the wine menu, she didn't bother to turn it over, just said one sentence: "Filtered water." A glass of filtered water was placed in front of her, she picked it up and took small sips. Tham Moc Ngung walked in holding Mrs. Co's arm. She wore a light yellow haute couture outfit, the hand-embroidered motifs on the hem of the dress sparkling with every step. That dress, Diep Nam Sanh recognized. Three months ago, in her wardrobe there was also an identical dress hanging, a new season limited model ordered by Co Han Chau's assistant. Then, I don't know when it disappeared from the closet. Now it is being worn on Tham Moc Ngung. When Tham Moc Ngung walked over, her eyes swept over Diep Nam Sanh who was sitting in the corner of the room, the corners of her mouth curled up, her chin slightly raised, gliding across the crowd. The surrounding guests all turned their heads to look, their eyes kept moving back and forth between Tham Moc Ngung and Diep Nam Sanh. Some people were whispering.
“Isn't Diep Nam Sanh Lady Co, why is she sitting there? that position?”
"Don't you know yet, now the person who really has a say in the Co family is that sister-in-law."
“I heard that her hand is disabled and she will never be able to have surgery again.”
"Tsk tsk, even my own son is following someone else, how pathetic..."
The sound wasn't loud, but the location in the corner was very quiet, so every word and sentence reached her ears without missing a word.
