Chapter 30
Chapter 30 — After Doctor Diep Disappeared
The eyeball sparkled with wet water in the rain.
“Mom.”
Then the boy rushed forward. The boy rushed forward and hugged Diep Nam Sanh's leg tightly. Her arms hugged tightly, her face pressed into the hem of her evening gown. His whole body clung to her body, trembling.
“Mom!”
The boy burst into tears, not a choked sob, but a suffocating cry.
"Mom is not dead! Mom!"
The rain poured down on the boy's back, the hood of his coat fell off, revealing the wet nape of his neck. Diep Nam Sanh lowered his head to look at the boy holding his leg tightly. The fingers reached out and touched Co Tu Mac's small hand embracing her. Then, she removed the boy's fingers one by one. When the last little finger was broken, Co Tu Mac desperately tried to hold it tightly.
“No! Mom, don't leave me!”
Diep Nam Sanh broke the boy's entire arm. She took a step back. Bow your head and look at the boy. The eyes behind the sunglasses did not have a single ray of warmth.
“Nephew, you got the wrong person.”
Co Tu Mac shook her head so much that the water droplets in her hair splashed all over her evening gown. The boy took the phone out of his jacket pocket, his finger stroking the screen. The phone got wet in the rain, the touch screen was not sensitive, it took several swipes to open the photo gallery. A photo. Diep Nam Sanh stood in the kitchen, wearing a white apron, holding a ball of rice in his left hand, smiling at the camera. The boy raised the phone in front of Diep Nam Sanh's face, raised it high, and stood on tiptoe.
“Mom, look, this is the bento box I made, I made it myself!”
"There's also a smiley face drawn by mom! Do you remember?"
The boy cried so much that he couldn't breathe, his nose and tears were smeared, blurring half of his face.
“Mom, I will never let Aunt Tham touch you again.”
“Mom, can you come home?”
“As long as Mom is willing to come home, I can do whatever she tells me to do.”
“I bow my head to apologize to mom, can I bow my head to apologize to mom every day?”
After that, the boy tried to kneel down again. Diep Nam Sanh reached out to block it. Then turned and walked away. Twenty minutes later. A black car braked in front of the cemetery gate. Co Han Chau found Co Tu Mac in the seventh row. The boy was still kneeling in the muddy puddle, not moving. His whole body was soaked, his lips were purple from the cold, his eyes were so swollen that he could barely open them. Still crying. But I couldn't cry anymore. Only the shoulders trembled with each rhythm. Co Han Chau squatted down and picked up the boy. Co Tu Mac's hand was terrifyingly cold, his fingertips were white, his joints were stiff.
“Tu Mac.”
Co Han Chau's voice trembled.
“Who did you see, Tu Mac?”
Co Tu Mac buried his face in the crook of his shoulder, his voice was muffled and indistinct, but every word could be heard clearly.
“Mom.”
“Mom came to visit grandma.”
“Mom is not dead.”
“But mom said her child is dead.”
“Dad, mom doesn't need me anymore.”
Co Han Chau hugged Co Tu Mac to the car, took out his phone and dialed Trieu Minh's number. His nails dug into the crevices of the phone case.
‘’Trieu Minh.”
“Blockade of all exit gates of Bac Thanh.”
“Airport, train station, long-distance bus station, everything.”
Trieu Minh on the other end of the line paused for a second: "Mr. Co, this matter... requires mobilizing a huge amount of relationships, and the current situation of Co City..."
“I say blockade then just blockade it.”
Co Han Chau's voice was cold as if coming from underground.
“I don't even need Co's life anymore, do you hear me clearly?”
“I have to find her for me.”
"If you can't find it, don't show your face again."
This time, he won't let her go. Even if it means dragging the entire Co Group into a common grave.
