“Jane, if this merger agreement is approved, the entire Asia-Pacific region of Bain Healthcare will change hands, with the capital involved up to 1.4 billion USD.”

"Are you sure you can't wait another quarter? Their cash flow is about to break, by then the price will at least be forced down another 20%."

Diep Nam Sanh raised his eyelids and glanced at him.

“Sign today.”

The lawyer didn't say another word and put the documents in his briefcase.

“Jane”.

The name has been circulating in the medical device industry on Wall Street for nearly two years. No one knows her real name. No one knows her background. I only know that her tactics are extremely cruel, she never leaves a way out for the acquired partner, every time she signs a contract, she swallows her without a single bone remaining. Within two years, seven merger deals, all successful. People in the industry secretly call her "Black Widow". Diep Nam Sanh does not mind this nickname at all. She only cares about one thing. On the screen was a long list of businesses, the name at the bottom of which she circled in red ink.

“Co Thi Group, Core Healthcare Segment”.

She stared at that name for three seconds. Then turn off the screen. … Co family's villa. From the outside, this villa is no different from two years ago. The outside wall is white, the lawn is neatly trimmed, and the roses in the yard are still blooming. But when I pushed the door open, the inside no longer looked like a place for living people. The living room wall is covered with photos of Diep Nam Sanh. Some are big, some are small, some are printed, some are framed, some are glued straight to the wall with tape. The largest photo is Diep Nam Sanh's wedding photo, enlarged to a size of 1m8, hanging in the middle of the wall opposite the door. Diep Nam Sanh in the photo is wearing a white wedding dress, smiling and turning her head to look at the camera, the corner of her veil being blown away by the wind. Below the photo is a table with fruit, fresh flowers and a pair of white candles on it. The candle was more than half burned, and melted candle wax remained on the candlestick. On the dining room table in the dining room are two sets of bowls and chopsticks. One set by Co Han Chau, one set by Diep Nam Sanh. In Diep Nam Sanh's bowl, rice was prepared, his chopsticks were neatly placed on the edge of the bowl, and a few pieces of food were already picked up on the plate. The white rice was cold and the food was dry. Co Han Chau sat opposite, muttering and talking to that empty set of bowls and chopsticks.

“Today, Ms. Vuong cooked my favorite sweet and sour cinnamon fish dish, I told her to reduce the sugar, last time I said it was a bit too sweet.”

He reached out and picked up a piece of fish and put it in the opposite bowl.

“Eat a little more, you're too skinny.”

No one responded to him. He doesn't care either. He looked at the empty chair opposite, his eyes dull, but the corner of his mouth curled into a strange smile. Trieu Minh stood outside the dining room door and saw this scene, sending chills down his spine. Since the day he brought back that jar of ashes two years ago, Co Han Chau has transformed into this look. The first thing he does every morning when he wakes up is change flowers for Diep Nam Sanh's portrait. Then make breakfast for two people, sit and talk in an empty chair. At night before going to bed, he placed the jar of ashes next to his pillow and covered it with a corner of the blanket. He's no longer in charge of company matters. The shareholders' meeting, he did not attend. He didn't answer the phone. Co Tu Mac seven years old. But he looks much smaller than other children his age. The boy rarely eats, speaks little, and rarely leaves the house. School has been dismissed. The psychiatrist came to examine him several times, but the boy refused to open his mouth. In the boy's desk drawer, there is a photo of Diep Nam Sanh making bento boxes in the past. Diep Nam Sanh in the photo stands in the kitchen, wearing a white apron, holding a rice ball in his left hand and smiling at the camera.
