Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — After Doctor Diep Disappeared
Tham Moc Ngung squatted down, hugged Co Tu Mac in her arms, her eyes were slightly red: "It's all because you're not good, you should stop Tu Mac, sister-in-law, don't be angry." Her voice was both smooth and soft, with a slight nasal sound. Diep Nam Sanh closed his eyes and did not say a word.
“I'm out of the hospital.”
Co Han Chau stood up: "What did you say?" Diep Nam Sanh has started wearing shoes. The patient's pants were too long, so she bent over and rolled them up twice, revealing her bare ankles. Co Han Chau held her shoulder tightly: "You just finished surgery, what are you crazy about?" Diep Nam Sanh looked up at him, his eyes stopped on his face and Tham Moc Ngung's face, each for a second.
"My sister-in-law is here, please treat her well."
Co Han Chau's face darkened, his voice tried to keep it low: "Diep Nam Sanh, can you understand the situation a bit? My sister-in-law is kind enough to come to visit you, what is your attitude?" Diep Nam Sanh did not argue back. She threw the cotton ball pressing the needle mark into the trash, walked barefoot to the door, and opened the door of the hospital room herself. Co Han Chau cursed something behind her, she couldn't hear clearly. She only heard Tham Moc Ngung softly say inside: "Han Chau, don't be angry anymore, Tinh Tinh is still waiting for us at home, why don't you go home first." Then Co Tu Mac's clear voice rang out: "Dad, hold me! I want you to hold me!" And finally there was Co Han Chau's heavy sigh, the sound of footsteps fading away in the opposite direction. Diep Nam Sanh scrolled down the phone book to the bottom, looking for an international number saved with the name "Lawyer An". She pressed the call button. Call done. The light from the phone screen shined on her face. The family photo is still there. In the photo, she holds Co Tu Mac who just turned one year old, Co Han Chau stands behind her, one hand on her shoulder. All three of them were laughing. Diep Nam Sanh's thumb pressed on the photo, held it tightly, and selected "Delete".
“Are you sure you want to delete this photo?”
She clicked the "Agree" button.

Chapter 3 The next day, Diep Nam Sanh appeared in the dressing room of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department of Nhan Hoa Hospital. Assistant Tran almost dropped the tool tray when he saw her: "Director Diep? You asked for leave today, right?"
“Has Mr. Ly's heart bypass surgery been changed to today?”
"It's changed. I'm on the operating table at 9 o'clock."
Diep Nam Sanh nodded, went into the office and started watching X-ray films. On the CT scan, the narrowed section of the coronary artery is in an extremely dangerous position, the bypass needs to go around a severely calcified area. With her right hand, she held the pen and drew a few lines on the film, and her wrist suddenly felt a pain. The lower abdomen is still in dull contractions. She changed her position and leaned back in the chair, watching the film again. At 10:20 a.m., she stepped down from the operating table. Four hours, three branches of the bridge were built, not a single connection leaked. Tieu Tran stood next to him and gave a thumbs up: "Director, you are truly the top of the top! If this position were to be changed to someone else, no one would dare touch a knife." At 1 p.m., there was a loud knock on her office door. The door opened and the person entering was Co Han Chau's special assistant - Trieu Minh. He wore a neat suit, lifted a velvet-wrapped jewelry box with both hands, and placed it on Diep Nam Sanh's desk.
“Lady, the boss asked me to bring it to you.”
He opened the lid of the box, a diamond necklace lay silently on the black velvet background. Trieu Minh cleared his throat: “Boss said, you've been working hard these days, this is a little bit of his sincerity." The office door was not closed, and several nurses and interns passing by in the hallway turned their heads to look inside. Diep Nam Sanh stared at that necklace for exactly three seconds. She reached out and closed the lid of the box, picked it up, walked around the desk and out the door. All eyes in the hallway turned to her. Diep Nam Sanh walked to the trash can in the corner of the hallway, opened the lid, and threw the jewelry box straight inside.
