Chapter 9 — My Achievements, Finally Bear My Name

I looked straight at him.

"Please write that down in the final minutes."

He smiled faintly.

"You think..."

"...just by saving the evidence, can you clear your mind of responsibility?"

"It's not about denying responsibility."

Responsibility item two: Strategic support department did not complete the full plan as required. The third proposed item: Raise awareness of implementation, avoid using the excuse of lack of data to affect project progress. La Han didn't look at me first. She turned to ask Luong Khai Dong.

"What is the purpose of today's review?"

"Identify the reasons why the first reporting session did not meet customer expectations."

"What is the immediate problem?"

"The plan has not been finalized yet."

"So who is responsible for completing the plan?"

Luong Khai Dong replied without hesitation.

"Co Van Ninh."

La Han bowed her head and opened the mission history in the system.

"In the project system..."

"...who is in charge of strategy?"

"So what is Co Van Ninh's mission in the system?"

Tan Man immediately responded.

"She is in charge of supporting the plan."

La Han continued asking:

"What items does the plan support include?"

No one answered immediately. La Han opened the project's task page directly on the screen. Co Van Ninh's handover items are clearly stated. Bidding document frame. List of data to be provided. Research methods. Model template. Support internal appraisal. No section: Complete strategic conclusion. Foreign budget goals. Also absent: Confirmation of the final option. La Han looked at Luong Khai Dong.

"Who created this job assignment?"

Luong Khai Dong replied:

"When the project first started, many tasks had not yet been divided into details."

"So have you added anything yet?"

"Discussed yesterday during the internal appraisal."

"What was the result?"

I opened the meeting minutes. Commercial manager: Tan Man. In charge of implementation: Trinh Da. Last reporter: Luong Khai Dong. Person in charge of strategy: Luong Khai Dong. System confirmation time: 15:47 yesterday afternoon. Confirmed by: Luong Khai Dong. La Han finished watching and said:

"Co Van Ninh has never been confirmed as the person in charge of strategy."

Luong Khai Dong's voice began to show impatience.

"The name in the system does not represent the actual job."

La Han asked immediately:

"So how is actual work proven?"

"From now on..."

"...so why isn't she the one in charge?"

That question just ended. The entire meeting room was silent for two seconds. Luong Khai Dong replied:

"Because I'm responsible for the overall direction."

La Han continued to ask:

"Overall orientation..."

"...is the model, budget and risk boundaries included?"

"Does that include drawing a final conclusion?"

"If so..."

"...why in the first report was Co Van Ninh answering all those questions?"

Tan Man paused. A moment later he said:

"Because she understands the data better."

La Han opened the minutes after Tinh Cang's meeting. Among the five questions asked by the customer... There are three direct questions surrounding the model and budget. Luong Khai Dong replied:

"Will confirm later."

As for Co Van Ninh... It was he who explained the reason for the lack of data and calculation methods. In the entire record... There is not a single line indicating that I refused to answer. La Han turned to ask me.

"When did you know you had to submit a complete plan?"

"From project email."

"The email clearly states that a complete bidding plan must be submitted."

"There was no confirmation of the person in charge."

"There are no rules for taking names."

"There are no rules regarding bonuses."

"So what did you do?"

"I submitted the plan framework."

"Data List."

"Analytical methods."

"And the model."

"Why don't you come to a final conclusion?"

"Because there are twelve important data items missing."

"Did you give advance notice?"
