One month after the landmark press conference, the Provincial Department of Culture officially announced the decision to recognize the entire Hoai Xuan ancient town area as a provincial-level architectural and artistic relic, marking a complete victory for the preservation battle that the whole community has persistently pursued for many months.

The ceremony announcing the decision was solemnly held right at the ward cultural house, with the participation of a large number of people, government representatives, and media agencies who have been following the story all the time.

"Today marks an important historical milestone," the representative of the Department of Culture said in front of a large number of attendees. "Hoai Xuan Ancient Town, with its unique architectural, historical, and intangible cultural values, has officially become a heritage protected by law and preserved for future generations."

Doan, invited to speak as a representative of a community that has been active in conservation advocacy, stood in front of the microphone with an indescribable surge of emotion. "This street is not just where we live and do business," she said, her voice filled with emotion but still remaining steady. "It is a place that preserves the memories of many generations, where traditional cultural values continue to be alive day by day. We are extremely grateful for this decision, and pledge to continue to preserve and promote those precious values."

After the ceremony, Mr. Dang Huu Tai was officially prosecuted for abusing his position and power and accepting bribes during the project approval process. Along with him, a number of other related officials also faced similar accusations, marking an important step in cleaning up the city's urban management and development process.

"This is an expensive lesson for all of us in the planning industry," Quang Duy's former teacher at university, who closely followed the incident through the media, commented when meeting his former student for a coffee. "Hopefully, from this incident, there will be substantive reforms in the way of monitoring and approving urban development projects."

Quang Duy nodded in agreement and shared his future plans. “I am planning to establish an independent planning consulting firm, focusing on combining urban development with cultural heritage preservation,” he said, his eyes filled with enthusiasm. "I want to apply the lessons from the past experience to create projects that are truly responsible to the community."

"It's an honorable direction," the old teacher said, smiling proudly at his student's growth. "If you need any support, don't hesitate to contact me."

In the evening, when returning to Vinh Xuan shop, Quang Duy found Doan sitting alone in the garment factory, her hands still meticulously perfecting a new ao dai, even though the light was quite late.

"Are you still not resting?" he asked, sitting down next to her.

"I want to finish this shirt before going to bed," Doan replied, not taking his eyes off the sewing thread. "This is the first order I received after the news of the monument recognition was announced. It seems, the shop's reputation is spreading more and more."

"That's what you deserve," Quang Duy said, watching her work with sincere admiration. "After everything you've been through, sacrificed."

Doan stopped, looked up at him, her eyes filled with deep affection. "We've been through it, brother. It's not just me." She put down the needle and thread and took his hand. "I can't imagine, without you, what things would be like."

"Me too," Quang Duy replied, squeezing her hand. "This journey has changed both of us, in ways I never imagined when I first walked into this shop to order an ao dai for my mother."

They sat quietly together in the cozy space of the garment factory, the soft yellow light illuminating the silk fabrics waiting to be turned into exquisite works of art. Although the battle to protect their heritage has come to a victorious end, both are clearly aware that this is only the beginning of a new chapter in their lives - a chapter written by love, trust, and a common commitment to continue preserving and developing the values that they have protected together with all their hearts.

A few days later, Doan organized a small meeting at the shop to summarize the entire journey, inviting everyone who had accompanied her - from lawyer Hai Dang, Mrs. Kim Chi, journalist Duc Anh, to Anh Tuan and many close neighbors.

"I want to thank everyone present today," Doan said in front of the familiar faces who have been with her through many ups and downs. "Without the support and companionship of all our brothers and sisters, we could not have achieved the results we have today."

Lawyer Hai Dang responded with a warm smile. "It is her perseverance and courage that motivates all of us to willingly accompany her," he said. "This is a beautiful testament to what can be achieved when everyone comes together for a worthy cause."

Journalist Duc Anh also shared his feelings. "In my entire career as a journalist, this is one of the most meaningful stories I have ever had the opportunity to tell," he said. "It reminded me why I chose investigative journalism — to bring the truth to the public, to protect legitimate values from being trampled by group interests."

Mr. Tuan, who is now also considering leaving his old company to join Quang Duy in a new planning consulting project, also expressed optimism about the future. "I believe, what we have learned from this experience will be a valuable foundation for more meaningful projects in the future."

The meeting lasted until late, filled with stories, laughter, and emotional tears as everyone reviewed the arduous yet extremely memorable journey together. Doan looked around, feeling a deep gratitude for all the people who appeared in her life at the most necessary time, together writing a beautiful story about perseverance, solidarity, and the strength of the community when standing up together to protect true values.

When the meeting ended and everyone gradually left, Quang Duy stayed behind and helped Doan clean up the shop space. "Do you think, this is a beautiful ending to our journey?" he asked, taking her hand.

"I think, this is not the end," Doan replied, smiling and looking at him meaningfully. "It's a new beginning, for the whole Vinh Xuan shop, for Hoai Xuan ancient street, and for us too."

Quang Duy stopped and looked at her with unusually serious eyes. "Speaking of new beginnings," he said, his voice holding a rare hint of hesitation, "I've been thinking a lot these past weeks, about our future."

Doan stopped, feeling the change in the air between them. "What are you thinking?" she asked softly.

"I think it's time for us to officially enter a new chapter, not just as companions in the fight to protect heritage, but as a real family," Quang Duy said, his voice shaking with emotion. "I know, we still have a lot to build — my new career, the growth of the Wing Chun salon. But I don't want to wait any longer to tell you that I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

Tears of happiness began to well up in Doan's eyes when she realized the meaning behind those words. "What are you..." she began, her voice choking.

"It's not really an official proposal," Quang Duy said, smiling reassuringly at her. "I want to do it more formally, when the right time comes. But I want you to know in advance, that's what I'm aiming for, with all the sincerity in my heart."

Doan smiled, tears of happiness rolling down her cheeks. "I'll be waiting for that moment," she said, resting her head on his shoulder. "But whether you ask or not, my answer will always be yes, Quang Duy."

They stood there, hugging each other in the cozy space of the garment factory, the soft yellow light witnessed a silent but meaningful promise about a common future that they were both working towards together, built on a solid foundation of love, trust, and sincere values that they had protected together throughout their recent challenging journey.
