Chapter 13
Chapter 13 — Mistakes Cannot Be Compensated
“Laughed at my father before he died, and told me to sympathize with you.”
Luc Hoai Xuyen's face changed.
“This has nothing to do with your father.”
“Yes.”
“When my father was in the emergency room, he talked in a formal way.”
“While I'm lying here, you talk about the evidence.”
"And when Wen Shuya and her mother needed you, you came very quickly every time."
Luc Hoai Xuyen stood up.
"I just finished surgery and my mood is unstable. We'll talk another day."
“Okay.”
I closed my eyes.
“Go away.”
"I'll stay tonight."
“No need.”
“Tham Gia Hoa.”
“Wen Thu Nha probably needs comfort more than I do right now.”
His breathing became heavier.
“Do you have to talk like this?”
I don't answer anymore. A moment later, the chair was pushed back to its original position. Luc Hoai Xuyen walked out the door.
“When you recover, we will talk properly about divorce.”
The door closes. Tong Dao covered me with the blanket, tears falling onto the back of her hand.
“Don't be sad.”
I looked at the transparent file bag on the nightstand. Inside was a surgical commitment form, a fetal ultrasound, and even the lawsuit documents the lawyer had just sent.
“Please help me get it.”
Tong Dao gave me the file bag. I pulled out the divorce petition at the top and neatly signed my name in the plaintiff's signature section. Tham Gia Hoa. 7 Tong Dao pulled the pen out of my hand.
"Okay, the doctor told you to rest, are you sure you have to sign tonight?"
“If you sign early, there will be less hassle that day.”
She stuffed the application back into her file bag, then put it in her handbag.
"Tomorrow morning I will bring it to the lawyer's office for you. Now close your eyes and go to sleep."
I don't have the strength to argue with her anymore. This sleep was very deep, when I woke up it was the next afternoon. Luc Hoai Xuyen did not appear. Next to the bed is a thermos bag, inside is thin porridge from the hospital canteen, and on the lid is a sticky note. *[Remember to eat and drink on time.]* His words. Tong Dao opened the lid of the cage to smell it, then closed it again as before.
"His assistant brought it. The person's face is not visible."
“Throw it away.”
"What's the point of wasting food? I'll bring it down to feed the yellow dog downstairs."
She said and took it away. In the afternoon, the General Planning Department staff in charge of investigating the post-operative bleeding incident came to the hospital room. Including a Deputy Director, a Head of Nursing Department, and staff from the Medical Complaints Department. The Head of Nursing placed a note down next to the bed.
"Ms. Tham, we have preliminary investigated the situation. Head nurse On recorded vital signs once at 2:40 a.m., at that time her blood pressure and heart rate were both within acceptable levels. After that, she was called away by another patient's family. By the time the normal nurse went to the room at 3:10 a.m., no obvious abnormal signs were detected."
Tong Dao sat next to him and asked directly: "So you were about to go into shock at 3:40, do you consider that a sudden incident?" The Head of Nursing turned a page.
“The specific bleeding rate needs to be combined with testing to evaluate.”
“Where is the mattress on the hospital bed?”
Some people looked at each other. The staff of the Complaint Resolution Department spoke up: "Dirty items have been handled according to regulations." Tong Dao smiled faintly.
“Really quick there."
I looked at the Head of Nursing.
“Are there cameras outside the operating room?”
“Yes.”
“What about the hallway of the post-operative infirmary?”
“Yes.”
“Request to keep all videos of that day.”
The deputy director said: "The camera will be sealed according to internal procedures."
“I want a written, sealed receipt.”
His expression was a bit awkward.
"Miss Tham, we are currently still in the internal investigation stage, there is no need to strain the relationship like that."
“I almost died here.”
