Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — The Empty Rescuer and the Female President Hide a Will
Test results are kept in sealed envelopes.
I don't open it right away. Vy is the same. We are facing a press conference organized by Quoc Thanh, where he claims Gia Han is an outsider who created a story to take over funds.
Nam suggested doing a livestream. I don't want to be an entertainment character.
“If you don't speak, they will speak for you,” he replied.
I stood in front of the camera, wearing the rescue jacket that still smelled of mud. Vy sat next to him, not wearing office clothes.
“I'm not asking the corporation to give me anything,” I said. “I ask them to make public the route of the rescue money and the condition of the embankment.”
Vy brought out the map. She confirmed that the land sale contract was suspended because the trust had co-management rights.
Quoc Thanh called a fake press conference, saying Vy was manipulated by me. He showed me a fake test, concluding that I had no relationship with Vu's family.
Hoang Nam pointed out that the laboratory code number was wrong. At the same time, the hospital sends the true results to the lawyer.
I tore the envelope. The words "blood related" are at the top of the page.
Vy finished reading and sat still. No tears. She just said:
“So dad lied to both of them.”
“But he left the funds for both of them.”
Nam asked if we wanted to announce the results. I looked at Vy.
“I decide.”
“No. We decide.”
The livestream lasts one hour. We do not tell everything private, only publish co-management rights and fund records. People along the river continuously send photos of cracked embankments.
A hidden account posted the location of Thanh Tin's material warehouse. Tuan realized that the warehouse had delivered substandard steel bars.
We arrived at night. The warehouse is half empty, but there are new car tracks on the floor. There was a phone inside, playing a recording of Quoc Thanh instructing him to hide steel before the flood.
Vy picked up the phone. The screen shows an incoming call from a number saved as “Ba”.
Her father has passed away. So who's calling?
