Chapter 16 — The Empty Rescuer and the Female President Hide a Will

After the flood, Quoc Thanh filed a lawsuit accusing Vy of illegally using Thien Ha property.

He asked the court to suspend all of her signing rights and at the same time speed up the contract to sell the riverside area to a real estate fund. I was summoned because I was the rescue commander.

Thanh's lawyer asked me if I received money from Vy. I answered no. He asked me if I was related to Vy. I looked up at the camera.

“That doesn't make the embankment stronger or weaker.”

The court requested an official test. My mother agreed, and Vy gave the blood sample without hesitation.

In the meantime, Nam announced the embankment profile. The article caused Thien Ha shares to fall, but also forced the authorities to open an investigation.

Quoc Thanh counterattacked by posting a photo of me receiving an envelope from Vy. That's just the cost of buying a life jacket, but the photo is cropped.

Khang looked at the article and said:

“If you keep explaining each photo, they will create more photos.”

“So what should I do?”

"Put up the expense book. If anyone wants to doubt it, read it for yourself."

I made the entire rescue bill public. No money from Vy was transferred to her personal account.

Duyen, my cousin, suddenly sent a file. She used to work as an insurance agent for Thanh Tin. She knew that they bought construction insurance before destroying the embankment.

“I want to testify,” Duyen said. “But I'm afraid they'll take over the store.”

I don't promise to save the store. I just promise that my lawyer will protect you if you tell the truth.

Duyen agrees.

Test results were returned after seven days: Vy and I are sisters from the same father.

Reporters stood in front of the hospital. Vy held my hand as we walked out.

“I don't know what to call you.”

"Call me by name first. Other things will come later."

Quoc Thanh held a council meeting that night, declaring that the inheritance had been divided in two, making Vy no longer qualified to lead.

I appeared through the screen.

"I didn't come to take the chair. I came to keep the fund from being sold."

A shareholder asked me if I planned to become president.

"I never wanted to sit in a chair. But if that chair was used to push people into the water, I would stand in front of it."

Vy smiled, calling me sister for the first time in front of the entire meeting room.
