Chapter 13 — The Empty Rescuer and the Female President Hide a Will

Tuan admitted that he once took my father away from the scene.

He didn't push him. He saved my father after he was beaten, but Quoc Thanh forced him to report that he ran away with the funds. Tuan kept silent to protect his daughter who is studying abroad.

“Where is your daughter?” I asked.

“They kept his passport.”

Quan pointed to the speaker.

“Thanh is listening.”

We find the source. It came from an old server in the pump room. I used my rescue skill to turn off the water valve, forcing the system to play back the recording on the speaker. Quoc Thanh did not expect that we could turn the factory into a radio studio.

His voice echoed throughout the house:

"Tuan, sign the report. The girl will be released."

Tuan burst into tears, but took out his phone to record it.

Nam transmits the sound outside. Police followed the signal and arrested three people operating the system.

Quoc Thanh escaped, but for the first time lost his advantage.

I asked Tuan why he didn't say anything sooner.

"I thought silence kept people. Turns out it only kept threats."

Vy asked the group to provide him with a legal guarantee. Tuan refused.

“I have to bear my share.”

That night, the council summoned Vy, asking her to resign to avoid a family crisis. Some shareholders fear the trust will cause Thien Ha to lose land use rights.

I was invited to speak. I'm not talking about blood relations.

"If a corporation can only survive by hiding whistleblowers, it's not worth keeping. If Thien Ha really wants to survive, publicize the rights of the foundation and fix the embankment before selling any meter of land."

A major shareholder asked me if I had enough money to fix it.

I gave the estimate from the fund.

"Enough. But the fund is not my own money. It belongs to the people who live there."

Vy agreed to put all of her shares as collateral.

The meeting room was silent. She just placed the chairman's chair on the betting table.

The voting results provisionally kept Vy, but required an independent investigation.

As she left the room, she said:

“If I lose my company, what will you do?”

“I will still fix the embankment.”

“What about me?”

“You can do it together.”
